I love the Oscars but something has to give.,

Is it just me or is the Academy biased.  All of the movies that win Best Picture, most of the time, we have never seen nor heard of them.  Now that Avatar's out and has done so well, critics want to take jabs at it.  So what if it doesn't have the best script or most original of storylines.  It was able to do something Slumdog Millionaire couldn't.  Truly grasp the interest of the audience.  Not to diss Slumdog Millionaire or anything.  I'm sure it was a great movie.  I just think politics should be taken out of the Academy and smaller movies should at least try to make themselves as well known as the released blockbusters.  Of course, politics is in everything.  Just saying.

It costs alot of money to market movies, James Cameron has alot of money and he was able to market the shit out of Avatar, Smaller budget movies have to rely on writing/script and Direction.

That's true, Clayton, but even so, some movies just don't even try relying on their connections to get them through.
