PLOT : A group of seniors squad up at school after midnight to continue a tradition they've had for years after homecoming, but in a life threatening turn of events they have to hide out in a lockdown drill, where a group of murderers start to terrorize them.
-Cops swarm outside the school, news reporters making live special reporters-
-Parents of kids are crying, searching for answers as body bags are put in the back of an ambulance-
-Lena Coopers sits on a bench, crying-
Mrs. Cooper screams - WHAT DID YOU DO?
Lena, in tears - I made a mistake.
*EARLIER THAT DAY, AT THE SCHOOL*
Maggie - Hey Lena! You know how it's my… Final days of being a senior and soon… I'll be going off to college.
Lena - Oh no.
Maggie - Well, you're a worker here now… So…. You should be able to…. -smiles- Get me keys to come into the school after hours and…. Have one last… Special day.
Lena - Maggie, that is breaking so many rules. I just got a job as a English teacher this year. Why would I want to throw my career away to let you probably break a bunch of laws after hours?
Maggie - Because I'm your favorite sister.
Lena - You're my only sister.
Maggie - Favorite sibling.
Lena - Accurate.
Maggie - So… One last time?
Lena - If you get in trouble… It's on you. -passes her the keys-
*NIGHTTIME, OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL*
-Lena buries her head in her legs, crying-
Lena - IT’S ALL MY FAULT….. IT’S ALL MY FAULT.
[LOCKDOWN.]
*MORNING, AT SCHOOL*
-Maggie kisses Taylor-
Maggie - You ready for tonight?
Taylor - Obviously! Haha.
Maggie - I really don't know how I'm gonna move on from this stupid ass town. I've always been excited but…. What if I'm not good out there? It'd be the first time ever being alone in the world. I'm getting real nervous.
-Taylor embraces Maggie-
Taylor - Just focus on tonight… The rest will come easy.
Maggie - That’s not how life works… What if I'm not good at being a surgeon? What if I just get there and realize.. Wow… I suck.
Taylor - You're a genius… You'll be fine,
Maggie - Not a genius.
Taylor - You're perfect. You'll do perfect.
-Tabatha, Alexis & Gigi walk up to her locker-
Tabatha (also referred to as “Tab”) - Hey! I can't WAIT for tonight!
Alexis - Oh, yeah! How could I forget!
-Liz walks over-
Liz - Is everyone else going?
Maggie nods - Just about. After the football game we should all just go home, make sure our parents are distracted and sneak out around midnight.
Liz - Although… My religion… STRICTLY frowns upon lies, sneaking, and rule breaking… I will come… Just to appease you all… ANY SINNING AND I’M GONE.
Maggie rolls her eyes - Come on. Breaking into school after midnight… It's gonna have SOME sin. Come on… Promise you're coming?
Liz - … Fine. I will not be ENGAGING in any sinful activity though.
Maggie - Never expected you too. -smiles-
-Liz walks away-
Alexis - Who exactly is going anyway?
Maggie - Everyone in our group. Inahime included.
Tab - Why Inahime? She's so weird.
Maggie - Because we don't exclude people, TABATHA. We are not like that… Plus, she overheard my planning in Yearbook Club.
Alexis - Did Lena give you the keys?
Maggie - Yep. Obvi, I'm a master manipulator. -chuckles-
*THE BELL RINGS*
Maggie smiles - SEE YOU THEN!
*IN HOMEROOM*
-Maggie, Randy & Rhett sit together-
Teacher - RHETT BURKE.
Rhett - Here!
Maggie - So, y'all ready for tonight??? -can't hold back excitement-
Randy - I mean.. Yeah, why are you so excited?
Maggie - Anxious. This is my final year… I'm gonna be gone soon… Med school… I guess I'm just excited for one of my last nights with the squad ever. Who knows when we'll all be together again! It's sorta like a celebration of four years together.
Rhett - So dramatic. It's not over yet.
Maggie - Isn't it though? We're all going to be so busy over the next few months and… I don't think we'll have any time to spend all together now… Plus, this is the last time we'll be sneaking into school after the big game. We've done it every year… it's an end of a tradition… End of an era.
Randy - Wow… You're VERY DRAMATIC.
-Rhett & Randy laugh -
Maggie sighs - Some people just don't understand.
Teacher - RANDY BARONE.
Randy - Here.
*IN GYM CLASS, OUTSIDE*
-Maggie, Alexis, Tab & Gigi stand around in the football field, wearing matching pink clothes, Maggie & Gigi wearing yellow belts, Alexis & Tab not wearing belts-
Maggie - Does anyone else feel really excited yet nervous about tonight? Like, NO ONE is freaking out over this potentially being the last time we're hanging out?
Gigi - I've been thinking about it… I have a lot of hope and genuine belief this isn't the last time.
Maggie - It won't be the same though even if we stay in touch. It'll be… Weird.
Tab - I mean… I never thought about it, but I also don't really care. Everyone besides y'all are SO extra.
Alexis - Nothing is going to change—
-A guy tackles another guy-
Alexis - WE ARE PLAYING TOUCH FOOTBALL, ASSHOLES. GET OFF EACH OTHER.
Gym teacher blows his whistle - ALEXIS… LANGUAGE.
Alexis - YOU BLOW YOUR WHISTLE AT ME?! YOU DIDN’T BLOW FOR THEM. THAT GUY JUST ATTACKED THAT OTHER GUY.
Guy - You weren't gonna be doing anything just standing there!
Alexis - Oh, bitch PLEASE, we'd be ANNIHILATING this game if I played.
Guy - K, then I'll sit out, and you'll play.
Alexis - OKAY THEN! -stomps over-
Maggie - He shouldn't have said that.
Tab - Some people will never learn.
Gigi - Wanna just walk?
Maggie - Yep. -drops belt and walks away-
*WALKING THE FIELD*
-Maggie, Tab and Gigi watch Alexis scoring touchdown after touchdown, while the other team desperately tries to catch up-
Maggie - How did she learn to be so athletic? I've literally known her since second grade and never seen her participate in any team sport ever.
Gigi - She's so weird.
Maggie sighs - I'm not ready to say goodbye.
Gigi - Stop being so dramatic. I've been thinking about it too, but I know… Even if we're never together again, we will keep contact and see each other again, even if not together in a group. We're too close to grow fully apart.
Maggie - Everyone says that. People never expect to grow apart... It just… Happens. I guess.
Gigi - Not to us… It can't. Too much backstory.
Maggie - One crack in our bonds… Could kill us all.
Gigi - Okay, so… I have an idea. Since tonight is some sort of last supper to you… Every year, on this date… We’ll come back, and after hours, take Lena’s keys and have a picnic in school.
Maggie - Really?
Tab - THAT SOUNDS SO FUN. OH MY GOD.
Maggie - For real?! 100%?
Gigi - I promise.
*THAT NIGHT*
-Maggie is about to sneak out, and when she is about to walk out the door is stopped by Carter-
Carter - What are you doing?
Maggie whispers - Carter, it's 11:45. Go to bed.
Carter - Where are you going?
Maggie whispers - Out. Just stop, it's a tradition party thing.
Carter - Starting at almost midnight? Without Mother’s permission?
Maggie whispers - What do you want from me?
Carter - Is it the annual school party? Where you break into the school after homecoming and have a party?
Maggie nods - I'm a senior, don't ruin this. Either way, I got keys this time. From -mouths- Lena.
Carter - Take me with you.
Maggie - What?! No.
Carter - MO— -Maggie covers his mouth-
Maggie - Fine.
[AT THE SCHOOL.]
-Maggie waits in front of the school. Her brother by her side-
-Gigi, Alexis & Tab walk up to her-
Alexis - What is he doing here?
Maggie - He… Blackmailed me. He saw me leaving and threatened to leak to mom.
Tab - Damn. He's good.
-Taylor walks up to Maggie and kisses her, not noticing her brother standing beside her-
Taylor - Oh shit.
Maggie laughs - It's just Carter. He knows I’ve kissed guys before.
Taylor - I just… At least wanted to…. Introduce myself first.
Maggie - Y'all met before, haven't ya?
Taylor - Not formally. I'm Taylor by the way. Taylor Lance.
Carter - I've been to a football game before, I know your name… I'm Carter. Maggie’s brother
-Liz walks up to everyone and hands everyone Bible’s-
Carter - Is this a joke?
Maggie - It never is.
Liz - If you ever have a feeling to sin… Pray and know God is watching.
Alexis - I'm so happy you brought these!
Liz - You're so welcome!
Alexis - I haven't done a book burning in the longest time!
-Liz’s smile quickly disappears and turns into a look of disdain-
-Inahime, Rhett, Randy & Jason quickly join the group-
Maggie - Gangs all here! Let's go in!
-Maggie unlocks the door and walks in-
Maggie - We all good! Woo! -runs in-
-Everyone rushes in and starts partying, besides Liz, who uncomfortable watches-
-Gigi goes up to Maggie-
Gigi - Shouldn’t janitors be here or what not? Every other year we saw Jimmy?
Maggie - Guess not on weekends anymore.
Gigi - That's super weird.
*IN THE AUDITORIUM*
*drip. drip. drip*
-Blood is dripping onto the stage from a place up above. Multiple janitors, one named Jimmy are seen dangling from a stage light, their stomachs and guts outside their body, obviously dead-
*IN THE CAFETERIA*
-Carter starts smoking weed, with Taylor & Jason-
-Maggie walks out, disappointed-
-Gigi rushes after her-
Gigi - He's going to ruin your future. You can't let him.
Maggie - Carter... Does Carter. I do me. We don't intertwine. I'll be far away in… Less than a year. It's time for him to make his own bad decisions.
Gigi - I just want you to be careful.
Maggie - I don't care about him anymore. -walks out-
-Taylor runs after her-
Taylor - Babe, wait!
Maggie - I was just taking a walk.
Taylor - Let's take a walk to the courtyard.
Maggie chuckles - Our place.
Taylor holds up a can of spray paint - Let's leave our signature.
*IN THE COURTYARD*
-Taylor spray paints on the wall of the courtyard L+C = 4EVER-
Maggie - L & C?
Taylor - Our last names. Lance and Cooper. I'm not going to just make it that obvious that it was us here.
Maggie - Creative.
Taylor - Now… We’ll be here forever.
Maggie - Well… Or until they repaint.
Taylor - I like to believe forever. They can't paint over feelings.
Maggie - They can paint over paint.
Taylor - Our paint is too strong.
Maggie - Poetic. -she kisses him- I won't stop loving you… Ever. But… College is coming faster than a bullet.
Taylor - Dramatic.
Maggie - It's a simile… Or a metaphor. One of those literary devices. But, seriously… I don’t think we can waste anymore time. Maybe, after this year… We can take a break. Or maybe just… Sooner.
Taylor - You want to… Break up?
Maggie - No… Never. But… Maybe.
Taylor - That makes zero sense.
Gigi walks out, into the courtyard - Guys… They're drinking. Tab is chugging these cups of beer like crazy.
Maggie rolls her eyes - She's a freaking awful drunk. -stomps in-
-Taylor stays behind, confused-
Gigi - What's wrong?
Taylor - I think… We broke up. -drops spray paint bottle and runs in-
-Gigi’s jaw is dropped-
*IN THE CAFETERIA*
-Tab is grinding on Rhett-
Tab - DEEPER AND DEEPERRRRRRRRR DEEPER HARDERRR AND HARDERRRRRRRR -pours beer all over herself-
Alexis - JESUS TAB STOP ASSAULTING RHETT, HAVE SOME CLASS… WHAT ARE YOU DOING.
Tab - LIVING MY OWN LIFE, SISTER. -grinds on Rhett more-
Gigi walks in - Oh Jesus Christ.
Maggie - SIS, GET OFF HIM.
Rhett - I’M GOOD!
Alexis - Kay. -pours beer in red solo cup and cheers - WOO! SENIOR YEAR BABY!
-Everyone dances to music-
-Liz walks out of the cafeteria, praying for the sinners-
-Jason walks out too, trying to get reception-
-Taylor sits down, depressed-
Gigi whispers - You okay.
-The lights go out and an alarm rings-
*OUTSIDE THE CAFETERIA*
-Liz quickly runs into the girl's room-
-Taylor looks concerned but ignores the siren-
*IN THE CAFETERIA*
-Gigi turns the music off-
Tab, already crying - MAKE IT STOPPPPPPPPPPP I’M DRUNK.
Maggie - What alarm is….
AN ANNOUNCER COMES ON - WE ARE GOING INTO LOCKDOWN… THIS IS NOT A DRILL. I REPEAT, WE ARE GOING INTO LOCKDOWN… THIS IS NOT A DRILL.
-Alexis hyperventilates, everyone else silent, staring at the alarm-
Gigi breaks the silence - This HAS to be a joke... Odds are a teacher saw us and decided to pull some prank on us. There would have to be someone IN THE SCHOOL to…. Sound the alarm…. -gulps-
-Maggie prays-
Inahime - We just have to get down, and cover our heads... Just in case, we have to cooperate. Just to be careful.
Gigi - BULL. SHIT. -walks to the window, looking for a stranger car- There isn't even a.... -Notices a white van in the back of the parking lot- ................... Is that anyone's van?
-Everyone looks out-
Maggie - That wasn't there when we came in. I checked.
Inahime - No, you're not. I know how to handle a lockdown drill. Everyone… Get to the front of the classroom, as right or left as possible, duck your head down, the point is to not be seen. Basically just duck down and hide at an angle that can't be seen through the glass part of the door. I'll do the rest.
-They all gather in the corner and cover their heads-
-Inahime closes the cafeteria doors and starts shutting the blinds, locking everything as she goes along, she puts a paper over the glass window in the door and gets in the corner-
Inahime whispers - No one... Touch... Your phones.
-Outside the cafeteria, you can hear stomping, and suddenly the shadow of a person's shoes can be seen, standing outside the cafeteria-
Maggie hugs Carter and whimperly whispers - If you die I'm going to kill you, tell mom and then she'll kill both of us again.
-The door starts rattling and shaking, and he starts banging on it-
-Tears run down Alexis & Tab's cheeks-
-The rattling suddenly stops, and you can hear the person walking away-
Gigi steps up, in a hushed but powerful tome - It's obviously a prank, everyone follow me. -stomps towards the other side of the cafeteria to the emergency exit and starts to try opening it, but it won't budge, so she starts kicking on it- Okay…............... This door isn't supposed to lock from the inside.
Tab, defeated - What can that mean?
Gigi - Either… This is one obsessed messed up teacher or…… Or….
-The next door starts rattling-
Gigi hyperventilates - Holy shit. -tries to open the window, but it won't open- *hysterically* SOMEONE GIVE ME A FREAKING... CHAIR OR SOMETHING. *bangs on the window*
Inahime - GIGI, CALM DOWN.
-The next door starts getting banged on-
-Tab starts bawling-
Maggie notices Carter disappeared - CARTER?!
Gigi notices no chair - What are we going to do?!
-The door stops rattling-
Inahime - Shit, the lunch line…. That's an easy entrance. -runs to the lunch line entrance, wide open and unlocked- There's no lock…. -closes it and runs back, whispering- Guys… There's no lock…. We have to get out of this room.
*IN THE GIRL’S BATHROOM*
-Liz hides in a stall, texting everyone, but the reception not allowing it to send-
Liz hears footsteps - UM HEY WHO IS THAT?
-The footsteps run to her stall and starts trying to open it-
Liz - AHHHHH STOPPP! -opens it and it's Jason there- WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!
Jason - I found an exit. We have to hurry up.
Liz - Why?!
Jason - There's no time. Hurry up.
-Liz and Jason run out and Jason the way into the junior wing of the school-
Liz whispers - Where is this exit?
Jason whispers - The freshmen wing. There's a door that is never locked and is being held open by a brick.
-They turn a corner and see a man wearing a ski mask-
-Liz backs away and he steps towards her-
-Jason turns around and another one is behind them-
Liz - I have an idea…. -she pushes Jason into the one in front of them and runs by them, out a door that leads her into another wing-
Jason - LIIIIIZZZZZZ! -gets pushed against a locker and starts getting punched and kicked, then the big guys start smashing Jason’s head in the locker and then opens one of the lockers and starts slamming it on his head-
-Liz peaks her head around the corner to see Jason getting his head annihilated by the big men, quickly turning away down the hallway towards the exit-
*LATER THAT NIGHT, OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL*
-Lena stares at a memorial garden for an old teacher-
Lena suggests to an officer - I think… We need a bigger garden.
Officer - Huh?
Lena, crying - Can I plant it? This is basically… My fault. -jaw drops- Am I gonna get arrested?! -starts bawling- ARREST ME. I KILLED THEM. JUST ARREST ME.
-Officer stares, stunned-
[LOCKDOWN.]

-Tab hides in a locker and someone starts banging on the locker-

-Alexis pushes someone down the stairs-
-Randy runs away from someone-
-Carter enters the gym, reluctantly-
Carter - HELLO?!
Tab is dragged down the hallway, desperately searching for something to grab - STOP AHHHHHHHHH!
-Someone is sitting down, blood all over their body, blood dripping down their own hands-
BANG.
[LOCKDOWN.]
