A woman climbs out of her warm taxi into the brisk evening air, but after a night of partying, she can barely feel the breeze. Chelsea Banks walks to the front door of her parentâs house and tries to open it, realising that it's locked, and her parents have likely left a key somewhere for her. She pulls out her phone.
âHey Mom. Where is the key?â - Chelsea
Chelsea sits on the porch as the vodka fogs her mind, staring blankly at her phone. âI need water asapâ. After a minute, her mom replies:
âUnder the mat. Weâre in bed already trying to sleepâ - Mom
Chelsea crawls to the mat and lifts it to see the key, she grabs it, stands up, and unlocks the door. The night is silent as the click means she can get the water that sheâs craving right now. Chelsea stumbles inside and grabs a glass of water, turning the kitchen light on and making sure the door is locked behind her.
*RINGING: Krista*
âHey bestie, are you still drinking?â
âNo, this isnât Krista, I think she left her phone. I was calling because I remember you from the party.â
âOh, okay. Who is this?â
âA friend of yoursâŠ.Whatâs Your Favourite Scary Movie?â
Chelsea notices the feminine voice is gone, and is now a raspier male voice.
âWhich friend is that?â
âAw, but you didnât answer my question!â
âUm, I donât know, my headâs pounding right now. I really need to sleepâŠStab?â
âOoh yes thatâs a good one! Where the girl is on the phone with the killer, and then she gets murderedâ
âI prefer Disney movies and like, The Notebook..â
âThose are no fun. Scary movies always get my blood pumping.â
ââ"So are you gonna tell me who you are or should I hang up?"
âThe friend whoâs going to CUT YOU OPEN!âÂ
âWhat the fuck⊠My dad is literally the Sheriff, heâll blow your brains out if you try to hurt meâ
âI'm REALLY scaredâ The voice cackles.
âIs Krista okay? Did you hurt her?â
âNot yet. But head cheerleader and daddyâs girl Chelsea Banks, unfortunately you should run, because in my Stab movie youâre about to be CUTâ
Suddenly a bang at the front door makes Chelsea yelp in terror. Chelsea hangs up and calls her dad. She hears the phone buzzing upstairs. âDADDY!â Chelsea screams. The banging on the door continues as someone tries to break the lock. Chelsea runs upstairs in a whimpering panic. She bursts into her parents room, screaming for help. Chelsea shakes her parentâs bodies as a window from downstairs shatters. âDAD!â Chelsea yells and flicks the light on. Blood is splattered everywhere, her parentâs throats have been sliced open and their stomach has been stabbed so much their entrails are exposed. Theyâve been dead for hours. âOH MY GOD!â Chelsea screams and runs to the hallway and heads to the stairs. Thatâs when Ghostface appears behind her.
Ghostface stabs her in the back, before shoving her down the stairs. Chelsea screams as she tumbles down the stairs, her leg snapping and bone protruding. Chelsea sees the front door wide open and cries out in pain as she struggles to drag herself towards the front door to escape. Ghostface walks up to her, standing on her hand as they walk past her and to the front door before closing it, looking at Chelsea, and turning the lock. Chelsea cries and tries to get away, but they stomp on her exposed bone, raise their sported hunting knife and bring it down on Chelsea Banks.Â
Scene Two.
The sun shines as the birds chirp, but are drowned out by the sound of police hoarding off citizens of Gorebrook, while paramedics carry out three body bags.Â
âOkay..three..two..one!â.âI am Sasha Noells and we are here at 9am as a tragedy has struck Gorebrook. Sheriff Glenn Banks, his beloved wife Amanda, and daughter Chelsea were found dead in their own home. Police suspect a homicide on one of the wealthy founding families of Gorebrookâ. The camera pans away from Sasha as Logan Dancer exits the once lively home. âLogan Dancer, you are the new Sheriff of Gorebook. With the unfortunate passing of Glenn Banks, what can you tell us?â. Sheriff Logan Dancer has red eyes and a sad droopy face. âGlenn and I went way back, he was like a brother to me. As his right hand man I will catch whoever committed this crime.â Logan holds up an evidence bag, with a phone inside. âThis phone belongs to the one responsible. I donât know why someone would do this, but they will be brought to justiceâ. Logan walks over to his police car and drives off.
âAn exclusive interview with the new Sheriff of Gorebrook, this has been reporter Sasha Noells, signing offâ
Scene Three
Eight friends sit around tables. The mood is low. âI canât believe itâ Coco grieved. Nick holds his girlfriend Isla as she sits on his lap. âSheriff Banks, Chelsea and their mom. Slaughteredâ Hoop announces. âSlaughtered?â Shane asks. âMy dad is the new Sheriff, and I overheard him say that to a coworker. The parents' bodies were in the bed. Chelsea at the bottom of the stairsâ Hoop explains. âWe were partying at the same club as her. This is a small town, how could something like that happen?â Isla trembled. âThis is some true crime shitâ Wes explains. âIf this isnât a one-off attack, we could have a serial killer guysâ Shane warned. Otis wasn't in his usual joking self with all this gloom surrounding the friend group.
âToday something SUPER crazy happened! A girl totally got butchered last night!â Rinnie Fischer said to her instagram live, as she held her phone to her face and walked down the college hallways. âChelsea Banks was a cheerleader, a girl with daddyâs credit card and now sheâs deadâ Rinnie added, before laying a bouquet of flowers by her locker, where others had done the same. âThis is heartbreaking, everyone is so depressed around here, emo losersâ Rinnie told her hundreds of viewers. Brooklyn Lane strutted up behind her and slapped the phone out of her hand, and sent it crashing to the ground where it cracked. âWHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY BITCH?â Brooklyn snapped. âMY PHONE!â Rinnie shouted. âChelsea was my best friend and youâre pretending to have a heart for your loser âfansâ, fuck off Fish-erâ Brooklyn added. Standing beside her was her boyfriend, Wren Lake, and friends Krista McKay and Lacey Morris. âYouâre paying for a new phone!â Rinnie hissed. âThe fuck I am!â Brooklyn yelled. âBabe, letâs go outside and take a breather, this is all affecting usâ Wren consoled. Brooklyn teared up and walked with her friends and boyfriend outside towards the tables.
â-I was just about to say, this feels like the beginning of a Stab movieâ Wes observed. âReally? A Stab movie?â Emily Smith said, overhearing, sitting under a tree reading the bible, she continued âStab movies are satanic, horrible movies with so much sin. If there is a killer, he is doing the lordâs workâ. âShut up with that christian bullshitâ Lacey interrupted. Emily scowled at everyone before standing up and walking away. âHey sisâ Lacey said, before lighting a cigarette. âSmoking on college grounds? Really?â Stacey said to her twin sister. Lacey didnât answer, just exhaled smoke towards Stacey. âBrook, have you seen my phone?â Krista asked. âNo, whereâd you last see it?â Brooklyn replied. âHonestly it wasnât with me when I woke up. If I've lost it clubbing I'm going to be in so much troubleâ Krista admitted.
Scene Four
âGood morning class!â Joelle Auclair sang. âToday weâll be continuing our studies. This book is called They Both Die At The End by Adam Silveraâ Joelle announced. The class looked at her, in shock. âMiss Auclair? Are you sure thatâs really appropriate?â Shane asked. Joelle thought for a second, âNope! So youâll finish this novel and write me a 600 to 700 word essay explaining the themes as they relate to todayâs societyâ Joelle cheered. âLike the society that left Chelsea, your student, murdered?â Krista asked. âWellâŠ.welcome to the real world Ms Mckay!â Joelle expressed.
Coco looked over to see Oliver Harper, his ex, staring at him. They locked eyes for a few seconds before Oliver darted his head away. Coco felt annoyed with Oliverâs presence and excused himself to the bathroom. Coco opened the bathroom door to see Wren Lake about to exit. Coco walked past Wren. âHey wait, I wanna ask you something!â Wren announced. Coco turned around to see Wren blocking the door. âYes?â Coco asked impatiently. Wren walked up to Coco, and slowly kissed him. Coco stood awkwardly and pulled back. âUm, what the fuck was that?â Coco questioned. âYouâre gay right? Donât you like me?â Wren blurted out. âBitch, not all gay people want to make out with you, youâre dating Brooklyn!â Coco yelled. âI know but, Iâm biâ Wren admitted. âOkay, and? Doesnât mean you can go up to anyone and just kiss them!â Coco criticised. âWoah, woah, okay. Sorry man. Just thought youâd like it. Donât tell Brooklynâ Wren stuttered. âBitch, I do not care about the lie, sorry, life, you wanna live, let me peeâ Coco said and pointed to the door. Wren left back to class.
A loud knock alerted the class. Sheriff Dancer opened the door and walked into the classroom. His eyes locked into Kristaâs. âKrista McKay, come with meâ, he demanded. Krista looked awkwardly around the room before slowly leaving her chair and grabbing her belongings, walking out the door. âHey Hoopâ Sheriff Dancer exclaimed. âHi dadâ, Hoop muttered, as Sheriff Dancer and Krista left the classroom. âOh my today is eventful!â Joelle praised.
Scene Five
On the other side of town, a lone car parked by the beach sits as music plays from the car radio. Rinnie Fischer and Minerva Wu are in the backseat making out. âThat bitch Brooklyn cracked my phone!â Rinnie claimed. âItâs okay babe, youâll fix itâ Minerva assured, before kissing Rinnieâs neck. Rinnie softly tugs Minervaâs hair as she continues. Meanwhile, an unseen figure zooms in their camera to reveal the secret couple, before snapping a few photos.Â
Scene Six
Krista could smell the whiskey on Sheriff Dancerâs breath, because it reminded her of her father. Krista could tell Sheriff Dancer wasnât taking the murder well, it showed on his face. The colour of his face was gone, eyes red, a frown and heavy breathing is all she could see from the once cheerful man. Krista was handcuffed in the interrogation room.
âIn the home of the Bankâs family, was thisâ Dancer announced, sliding the evidence bag with a phone across the table to show her. Krista was staring at her phone. âItâs mine, I lost it last nightâ Krista spoke softly. Krista knew he wanted the killer caught. âWhere did you lose your phone last night?â Sheriff Dancer asked. âPartying, with my friendsâ, Krista admitted. âOn a school night?â Sheriff Dancer asked? âNo oneâs perfect sirâ Krista implied. âWhere did you go to party?â he asked. âThe only club in town, Drunken Lobsterâ Krista admitted. âWhat about after?â. Logan needed answers. âWe called a taxi and went home. Chelsea, Brooklyn, Wren and myself. Chelsea was the last one dropped off because she lives in the rich neighbourhood, by then I wouldâve been in my house, when I came home I literally was struggling not to puke on the ground and woke my mom up, and now Iâm so fucking hungover-â Krista insisted, she added âSheriff Dancer, I am not the one who did this. Iâm Chelseaâs friendâ. âWell, the phone is a big piece of evidence and makes you our prime suspect, so we canât let you go,'' the Sheriff revealed. âYouâre kidding?â Krista exclaimed, shocked. âNo, until I catch whoever is responsible, you have to stay overnight at least,â the Sheriff concluded, before walking out the door. Krista teared up.
Scene Seven
As Coco opened the door and walked into âRocky Beansâ, the bell rang alerting Claire Harrington who looked up. âHey sis!â Coco cheered and strutted towards his childhood friend. âOh my god hey!â Claire lit up when she saw his face. âIâve been wanting to catch up, I got tea bitch!â Coco announced. âReally I thought you preferred coffee, what happened? Did you hear what happened? That Chelsea girl was killed! I remember when she teased me at schoolâ, âYeah thatâs fucked up. No, you remember Wren Lake? He literally kissed me, and oh my god Oliver was staring at me in class earlier with our batshit english teacher Ms Auclairâ Coco rambled. âWell thatâs a lot to take in, youâre used to that thoughâ Claire teased. âI- Bitch I will order a piping hot latte and splash it all over you so you can pretend your ex is giving you a facialâ Coco jeered back. âGirl, weâre in public Cocoâ Claire cautioned. âI doâŠkinda still have feelings for Oliverâ Coco admitted. Claireâs face went sour. âWell, I told you he didnât treat you what youâre worth, and now youâre single. Donât think about him, Iâm sure thereâs a guy for youâŠWes?â Claire asked. âWes, heâs a cutie but not my typeâ Coco admitted. âIf I were you I'd try to go for him. Wes has always been sweet and he loves horror movies just like usâ Claire suggested. âWes is like a brother to me, not all gays just wanna hook up with each otherâ Coco answered.Â
*RINGING: Unknown Number*
âOkay gimme a sec Claireâ Coco added before answering.
âHey this is Cocoâ
âDid you hear about Chelsea Banks. Poor thing?â
âUh, yeah..â
âIt was so fun as I gutted her, watching her squirm all helplessâ
Coco started shaking, and went pale.
âWhat?â
âYou heard me Coco, when I killed Chelsea and her parents?â
âH-how did you get my number?â
Coco turned to Claire, scared.
âThis was just the opening act. None of your friends are safe. I could be lurking anywhereâ
âWho are you?â
âThe one thatâs going to stalk and hunt your friends like wild animals. Welcome to my movie, Coco!â
