8:23pm, Sheri's mother asks her to take out the trash. She grabs what feels like 100 pounds and drags it to the back of her house where the trash bin is. She throws the trash in & hears a loud bang from the fence across the backyard. She hears her dog with a raging growl from inside and runs back to the front door in fear until she bumps into a dark figure. "Sheri, my dear are you alright? you look like you just saw a ghost?" says Mrs. Coonbar. Sheri tells her she was just a little frazzled and walked back inside. That night all she could think about was the mysterious noise she heard. Her eyes start getting heavy and she finally gets to sleep. Whilst in a deep sleep, a hooded man slowly opens Sheri's closet and slowly walks over to Sheri. He pulls out a long knife and goes in to stab her but as soon as he's about to Sheri wakes up in the morning with a cold sweat. Sheri walks down stairs for breakfast and finds both her parents & dog dismembered all over the living room with the message carved on the wall "Sorry for the mess".
2010: Durango, Colorado-
A bright snowy June morning in the small town, Kids are going to their final day at school & families are heading out of town to escape the snow storm for the summer. Tanner wakes up to get his sister Katie off to school and for him to open up the local theater he works at. "Katie, time to get your ass to school!!" yells Tanner from downstairs. Katie tells him she just needs to grab a couple a things and she'll be right down. Katie's instant messenger gives her a notification: [wherethewindblows51: Hello] [KatieM142634: Hey, Sorry got to go to school! :(]
Katie turns everything off and runs out the door to Tanners car. When they arrive in the town they drive by Rudy who has just arrived in Durango. "Who's the new dude, he looks like a freak." Tanner says in disgust. Katie assures him that he's a nice guys and to get her to school before she's late for her final day. Rudy walks through the town with no idea where he's heading. Aveline, the bartender calls him over from across the street & tells him to come inside to warm up. She offers him a free beer as a Welcome to Town gift. Rudy asks her how he knew he wasn't from their. Aveline says "Well seeing you with a giant map of the town was a really huge hint that you're a noobie." They both laugh about it while taking a few more shots of whiskey and play a game of pool.
The Durango High bells ring as Katie, Kixi, Cody, Sam & Mac walk out of their final class of the school year. They slowly walk past the elementary school which is shared with their high school & stares at the mysterious little girl who they always see sitting on the slide. "Delete creeps me out, I never see her anywhere else & she's always wearing that same old purple shirt. She makes me shiver more then the weather." Sam says. As the group walks off a dark blurry figure from behind a tree is watching Delete and disappears into the foggy forest. "See you guys later!!" as Mac runs off before he's late for his appointment at the Psychic Chateau. "MADAME JERISHMA! Wait up! sorry I'm late" Mac says out of breathe. Madame Jerishma starts closing up her shop and tells Mac to come back tomorrow. "Sorry Mac, I'm heading home early today. I'm not feeling too well & I need to catch up on my soaps. Come back tomorrow.....and try not to be late this time!" Jerishma says in a weary voice.
At the movie theater, Sam, Ethan & Tanner start having a conversation about Ethan's split with his wife Shannon. Ethan seemed a bit upset about it but says he will always love her & she helped him be a better man. Sam & Tanner try to put a smile on his face so they go in for a forced group hug. Ethan & Sam as they have nothing to do go to Theater #3 to check up on how everything is doing. They see nobody except a man in the back row as Shutter Island is played on the screen. The boys joke about how creepy it'd be to be alone in the theater with the guy & Tanner tells them in a confused voice that no one bought a ticket for Shutter Island that day. Sam is confused and goes back & the man had disappeared.
Later that night, Shannon walks up to Katie's bedroom whilst her & Kixi are talking about their dream man, "Hey Katie, I know I'm suppose to look after you until your brother gets home but I need to get home and pack up my stuff before Ethan gets home. You're old enough to stay home on you're own so just tell your brother it was an emergency and I left 10 minutes before he got home. "I understand just know everything is alright & me and Kixi are here if you need anything just call. Shannon gives a slight smile & heads out. The girls talk about how bad they feel about her divorce and wish they could be more help to her.
As Shannon pulls into her parking spot a knock on her window scares her half to death, "Sorry ma'am, I'm Rudy. I'm new here & I can't find my apartment, #416". Shannon rolls down her windows and tells him that it's on the other side of the building while having to smell the strong alcohol from his breath.
A Few Hours Later:
It's 8:50pm, Sam, Tanner & Ethan start closing the theater as the showings have all finished. They turn off all the lights, put on their heavy warm coats & head out the door. They hear a loud screeching noise from the alleyway close by. They walk over & see a trash can suspiciously in the middle of the alley. Sam begins to walk up to it slowly & nervously. Ethan tells Sam to hurry up and Sam bends over to pick up the lid to only find a rotten bag of potatoes. Sam is relieved but he soon notices tiny drips hitting the potatoes and feels something wet all over his hand. He fall to the ground in shock as hes sees a bloody severed body hanging above them. The scene pans in on the blood seeping into the snow as the storm starts picking up.
