if you don't wanna read the whole thang let me summarize it ...
-A professor from yale university called them a shady non profit organization...why? well he discussed that the film was more about the filmmakers and not the cause and if they were really concern about the children they will hide there faces like how a professional documentary will do .
-Foreign Affairs accuse them of "manipulating facts for strategic purpose"...why again? Actually LRA by kony wasn't meant to "dictate and be the evil across uganda" it started out in 1980 where there were different groups like LRA battling ...almost as if world war...and LRA was the only one who survives it ...more of the IC didn't meet the better business bureau standards...(standards that a charity org needs to pass before being considered as an official one)
-IC (invisible children org) has a 2 star rating coz they dont let people audit there financial matter by the charity navigator.
-They admitted also that only 31% goes to helping out...most of the money is use for traveling (over a million used) and documenting(over a million too)
-So what do they do with the 31%...they give it to the ugandan army....which is also accuse rape and looting by there own government on uganda.
-Actually great measures was done to help this....that's why since 2006 kony is not on uganda anymore ...and have been on the run ever since...the money youre gonna spend...yeah well that's just gonna be for vacation expenses of the great directors of the vid.
I can go on and on how i was mislead by this shit ...but yeah i was just disappointed, i guess that 5 year old kid got me....if there's one thing i won't take back...it's that give that bitch an oscar.
I totally disagree with you. OBVIOUSLY not all 100% can be used for Uganda... if it was like that then it would be impossible to continue with the project. They also need the money to travel and other things. The people who started this project gave their entire life up for this project... they have the right to live off of it too, wtf do you expect? I think is sad as fuck how people are turning it around on THEM who stood up for a change and saying they're shady.
"if they were really concern about the children they will hide there faces like how a professional documentary will do ."
First of all, the "interviews" clips shown in the documentary were of children who were ALREADY rescued. They are 100% safe, not in risk or anything. He obviously showed pictures of other kids, but that is not going to put them in harm. Not the kid's fault pictures were taken of them.
-31% ... really gurl.....and those 31% they didn't gave it to uganda ...they use it for there army ....not to the poor people at uganda
-in the video 50% they use that 5 year old american kid or the other children i mean they even put the pictures of the mutilated ...that's like child exploiting
Horrible grammar just saying, and please type out full words if you want people to take you seriously. Stop trying to find the slightly negative side of it just to get a top blog.
They are not scammers, and a lot of this info you have used is from 2006 and has nothing to do with the video.
I don't think you understand how big 31% is, a charity is still a business, they still have bills and other expenses just like any other business. 31% is a big amount.
Whenever anything big happens, there is always someone who digs out facts from years ago to try and paint it in a bad way, not because they care, but because they want to be different and they want attention.
Seal donating TO the fund is including transport, admin and all that too, that doesn't mean that 100% of your money goes on water, besides thats a whole different matter. I'm not donating to the Kony cause anyway, I will support it, but they don't need my money
Stop with the conspiracy theories, is getting fucking stupid. If you look at ALL the non-profit charities you would be surprised to know how much of the percent actually goes in on direct-cause. Invisible Children just posted a link on their website specifying where ALL the money is going... they're not scamming ANYONE so stop with the attention.
Blogs Click the link I posted. Direct quote here...
"charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. 100% of public donations directly fund water projects."
Blogs "We send 100% of public donations to our local partners on the ground, who build and implement the water projects." So 100% of YOUR donations would go straight to water, and only water.
Private donations go to the various other things (payroll, legal work, utilities).
Add both together, and you get just about 80% of all the money raised going directly to the cause.
I think Charity Water is one of the most legit charities out there, and it addresses the world's biggest problem.
