First of all I absolutely looooooooooooove this format. The winning team decides one player from the losing team to send into the Gauntlet AND protect 1 player from going into the Gauntlet. Then the losing team also selects one of their players to go against. And veterans versus rookies is also one of my favorite team versus team concepts.
And the third Gauntlet also gave us so many good moments! How about Coral QUITTING. That's something I NEVERRRRRRRRRR thought I would see. Frank and Jillian being a POWER COUPLE in the Gauntlet, winning a combined SIX Gauntlets (three apiece), and then there's the infamous Eric.
FUCKING ERIC. If it wasn't for this moment, this season would be so much higher on my list. All season long everyone complained that Eric would be a liability in the final mission, but no one wanted to take the risk of going against him in the Gauntlet. So Eric breezed his way to the final mission and FUCKING PASSED OUT. The Veterans left him behind like lol bye, and they strolled to the end of the mission but WEREN'T ALLOWED to raise the flag because TJ said at the beginning that EVERY team member had to be present to win. They were literally robbed because 1 player was worthless.
HINT for #9: There have been two variations of this specific Challenge theme
eric ruining the vets' win was so good. thats what they get for axe'ing beth and coral. also HALF OF THEM ARENT EVEN VETS. some of the rookies played more seasons than the vets such a joke
however i LOVED the fast pace with twice as many 30 minute episodes
Also that random relationship Evelyn had with that straight girl? Mess.
Frank & Jillian were BEASTS.
