The wait is over! Chapter Five is OFFICIALLY here! Please read for me, because this chapter is dedicated to my best friend, who just passed away very recently.
Well, hope you enjoy!

.
We slowly gathered ourselves, and stood up. We didn't know what was in the cold, dark forest, and we weren't so excited about going in there anyways. We paced the beach, looking for a possible clearing that could take us away from here. There was nothing.
.
We walked back to where we sat before, the place where we had exchanged wonderful stories about our lives. But would our lives end here? Who knows?
.
I jumped at the sudden rustling in the bushes. Nathalie and I gave each other a frightened, worried look. We both didn't know if this could possibly be the monster we were afraid of, or a person that has come to rescue us. It was impossible to imagine what was behind that bush.
.
It continued to rustle, but then, in the blink of an eye, a small shadow leaped out of the bush. It was NOTHING like the monster that Nathalie had described to me. But it was different. It was growling at us, but it was so small.
.
Both of us slowly backed up. We didn't want the small creature to think that we were running away from them. Who knows what this creature could do?
.
It took a few steps forward, and then we saw it.
.
It was a small chipmunk, yet it wasn't a chipmunk. It had sharp fangs as teeth, and its fur was matted with dust and dirt. It was growling at us, its sharp claws ready to attack.
.
And then we both made the most ridiculous decision of our lives. We bolted away from the creature.
.
Immediately, the "demon chipmunk" dashed toward us. It was obviously faster, and we couldn't keep up with it. I could run faster than Nathalie. Nathalie couldn't run as fast because she hadn't eaten in many days. If she had even eaten, it was probably in small amounts and probably wasn't very nutritious.
.
We kept running and running. All I could hear was my heart beating like a thousand drums, and the waves crashing against the sand. I looked back, to see that Nathalie and the "demon chipmunk"...were gone.
.
I started screaming for Nathalie, but she didn't come back. What had happened to her?
.
I began searching for Nathalie, but also looking over my shoulder now and then to see if the chipmunk may have come for me too.
.
I kept searching for what seemed like hours, but still hadn't found Nathalie. So, I decided to go back to the cave. I think it was safe enough, and Nathalie may have run back to the cave in fear.
.
I dashed back to where the cave was. It looked exactly the same. No bloody spots, no creepy monsters in the cave. But I had a feeling that something was different.
.
I slowly crept into the cave. And there, I saw something horrifying.
.
The "demon chipmunk" was there, and also...Nathalie. She was lying on the floor, blood splattered everywhere. The "demon chipmunk" was feasting on her, eating everything. Flesh and bone. The chipmunk had not noticed me yet, as it was too busy feasting on Nathalie. My breath came out in slow gasps as I crept out of the cave again.
.
I started to run through the forest. I didn't care what would jump out and attack me. My best friend was gone, and I was lonely. Tears started rolling out of my eyes as I ran through the forest.
.
How would I get out of here now?
