The new rookies is a quick game, not a take your time and use up all 6 hours game. I've seen it time and time again, people log on and then log off leaving people sitting there waiting. Well when that person comes back, it's usually them that gets the boot. I enjoy betting on these games and watching them play out so it's neither fun for me or the people playing them if you log off and make people wait forever while you take your sweet ass time. The same goes for jury members, if you made it that far then congrats but you need to stick around and do your duty and vote, it's not like you have to wait that long and if it's such a burden then you shouldn't have signed up for the game in the first place!
Thanks cubz for your first 6 and to everyone for plussing me on this! To those that disagree, I'm not trying to be mean but everyone should know by now that these new rookies games are quick games, they take maybe an hour or 2 at the most so it's unfair to the other players to have to sit and wait around while the other players go off and do other things. I mean if they have busy lives or school or work or whatever, then they can wait until another time to sign up for one of these new rookies games or sign up for a different kind of game all together. I'm just saying, it's not fair to the fast players, that's all.
Dream I agree... I like the old game better. The lag makes it hard and I like to get to know people I was just saying to know what you're getting into, that's all. But in the end I wish that we would have the choice of playing both versions.
I don't agree, some people have school, jobs or hobbies outside of tengaged and can't be on here all the time. They shouldn't be penalized for wanting to play a Rookies and having to deal with rl responsibilities at the same time. Just sayin. +6 though :)
jenika if you know you have school or a job and you know you'll have to go so then dont join its has simple has that. wait till you get back or till you know you'll be available for the time it takes to play a quick game
Some of our computers/internet connections run too slow to make a quick game very fair...I can't get a word in edgewise which gives me no chance at HoH or even to get to know anyone. Some of us prefer the slow games where can actually know who we're evicting. Just sayin'
The new Rookies was supposed to be slight modifications to the old game in order to bring it in line with the Big Brother Show.
What we got was a massive transformation to a completely different game than the old one. We have a game that makes the months many people on this site took to earn their color levels a mockery, and a game where people are badgered because they happen to have a life. It's attitudes like the one in this blog that get really irritating. We all know Duel pays out too much too fast - so why does everyone overlook that this pays out more faster? Also - remember when there was actually time for a social game? I do.
And while we are at it - when was the last time you were watching Big Brother on TV and the houseguests said "I'm bored - let's do the eviction faster this week"? Oh wait - that never happened.
I just don't get why rookies even has to be quick. The game was supposed to be altered to make it more like the programme it was based off, BB USA, by adding a jury, and games for pov...thats cool.
However, since when on BBUSA were people required to get through the scheduling of HOH, Pov, and eviction, one RIGHT after the other at such a rapid pace? I'm not that clued up because I'm from the UK and I don't watch a great amount of it, but as far as I'm aware, it runs to a weekly schedule, with different events such as hoh. pov etc etc taking place on certain days, giving the HMs the chance to use the time in between to strategise and whatnot, get to know their competitors, manip them and make deals.
Yesterday in a rookies, I got first HOH, [RARE occurrence for me!], but I felt RUSHED into making a decision quick, and there were many I didnt know, or get a chance to judge in the game. It sucked. You wouldnt get that on BBUSA.
So in all honesty, I'll play a quick game, but I won't moan if its slow...I actually prefer them slow, as there's then much more time to do dirtywork. Whatever critiques people had about the old rookies being nothing like BBUSA, this one isn't that much of a step-up either.
