JB: This season, we aren't messing around. We have twenty survivors, and we are throwing them into the harsh, wild Africa for the next five weeks. They will be co-existing with incredible wildlife. Giraffes, rhinos, lions, but most importantly, each other. This is sure to be the toughest Survivor yet, so brace yourselves for Survivor: South Africa!

JB: Welcome to Survivor: South Africa.

JB: This season, you will encounter twists that have never been before seen on Survivor. This season, Exile Island is BACK. This season, Tesoro Isla is NOT BACK. But, you will be encountering new twists, old twists, and everything in between. So, brace yourselves, because we are going to have our first twist.
Alexandria (confessional): I got a bit scared for the twist to be honest.
Ivan (confessional): What could it possibly be?
JB: We are going to divide you into FIVE unique tribes................

-Day 2-
JB: Come on in, guys!
*Castaways enter*
JB: Today is a big day. You will be competing in your first reward/immunity challenge. Today, three tribes will leave with fire in the form of flint, but, that doesn't necessarily mean you are immune. The three tribes that win today will take part in the immunity challenge tomorrow where only one tribe will win immunity. Today, the two losing tribes will go to tribal council and vote somebody off. This is a typical challenge. You must race over a wall, run into the forest and locate to their tribe grappling hook. The tribe then brings the hook towards home base. You will race to solve a brainteaser puzzle, which releases a giant ring. Once the ring is released, the tribe attaches it to a rope that they use to throw at a grappling hook to unfurl their tribe flag. The first three tribes to raise their flags win immunity. The two tribes that don't will be seeing me at tribal council, where they will vote someone out. Does everybody understand?
All: Yes.
JB: OK, I'll give you a minute to strategize, and we will get started.
JB: Only one spot remaining! The sixties look out of it, but the twenties and the fifties are very close!

Ivan: Phew!
Frederick: Yeah baby!

JB: Well, thirties, fourties, fifties, here is your flint, and you do not have to come to tribal council tonight. Head on out. I got nothing else for you. Congratulations.
*They exit*
JB: Well, you two are going to tribal tonight. One person from your tribes are going home. Tswana, you will have the first tribal council. Swati, you will follow. You have the afternoon to figure out who will be the first two people voted out of Survivor: South Africa. See you at tribal.
-Day 2, Tswana (60's)-
Giuseppe (confessional): Well, to everyone's surprise, the oldest tribe is going to tribal council. And, it is an easy cop out to say, Oh, he big Italian needs to go first. Well, I am going to make sure that won't happen to me.
Richard (confessional): Today, Giuseppe clearly was struggling in the challenge, and so was Lynette. I feel as though I am the strongest on my tribe, so I have taken a leadership role. And, I think it is a toss-up between Giuseppe & Lynette.
Zoe: I love Lynette. She's so sweet.
Richard: Yeah, but we need to win challenges. With our tribe as weak as it already is, we need to make sure we get rid of our weakest link.
Zoe: That could possibly be Giuseppe.
Richard: It could. We just have to evaluate our options and make a decision.
Lynette (confessional): I see people talking and of course it gets me nervous. The one thing I don't want to be is the first one to get booted off. I think that's an embarassment. Well, I am going to try to find an angle to try and oust Giuseppe instead of me. I'll do whatever it takes.
-Day 2, Swati-
Jordon (confessional): Most people would expect us to win every challenge, because we are the youngest. So I am pretty sure your jaw dropped when we lost today.
Luis (confessional): We have a sticky situation here because Alayna & Alexandria are like two peas in a pod. They will never vote for each other. I am amazed with their bond and they only met less than 48 hours ago. I got to talk to Jordon and hopefully we could try and split them up.
Luis: What if we forced a tie. Two votes for Alayna, two votes for you and me, and we are tied. It will come to a challenge, and one of us will beat them in a fire-building challenge or something.
Jordon: Right.
Jordon (confessional): Luis provided an interesting scenario that involved fire-building, and no me. I like that. But, the only thing that I don't like about Luis is that he is on his high horse a bit, he is so full of himself, it disgusts me. I want to vote him out, but I may be forced to stay with him because the girls have already formed an alliance, so I don't know, we'll see.
-TRIBAL COUNCIL, Tswana-

JB: Behind each of you is a torch. Go ahead and grab a torch and approach the flame. Dip it in and get fire. As you should know, fire represents life in the game of Survivor. When your fire is gone, so are you.
*Castaways get fire*
JB: Let's talk about these first two days. Zoe, how is camp life?
Zoe: For the most part, pretty decent. We have fire, we have boiled water, no enemies, no fights, it's been great.
JB: Richard, have any friendships started forming?
Richard: I think all of us have forged a common bond, which makes this first vote so tough because it is so early in the game, and we all like each other.
JB: Let's talk about the challenge. Giuseppe, it seemed like you were struggling.
Giuseppe: I was. I haven't done much physical activity in over thirty years. I own a restaurant, and I'm stuck in the kitchen all day. No time for exercise.
JB: Lynette, it also seemed that you struggled a bit. Are you nervous about the vote tonight?
Lynette: I am a bit worried because the one thing I did not want to be out here was the first person voted out. I don't mind that I'm the oldest. I don't mind that I am the shortest, I just don't want to be the first person voted out.
JB: OK, well we are about to find out who is going to be the first person voted out of Survivor: South Africa. It is time to vote. Zoe, you are up.
*Everyone votes*
JB: Once the votes are read, the decision is final. The person voted out will be asked to leave the tribal council area immediately. I'll read the votes.

Lynette (exit interview): Even though I was the first person voted out, this was still a tremendous experience. I love Africa and it has always been a dream of mine to travel here. Now, I gotta bring my husband!

JB: Now, we will bring in the Swati tribe.

Jordon: A little. We lost to people more than half our age. In my mind, that is outrageously unacceptable.
JB: Alayna, have friends been forming?
Alayna: Me & Alexandria have gotten real close.
JB: Alexandria, does that close friendship put a target on your back?
Alexandria: It could possibly put a target on our back. But, I'm not going to waste a close friendship for one million dollars. Friendships are worth more than that.
JB: Luis, what do you base your vote off of tonight?
Luis: At this stage of the game, it is all about getting rid of your weakest link. You can't form alliances or anything really yet. It is all about winning the challenges for me.
JB: OK, it is time to vote. Alexandria, you are up.
