A wonderful, caring, stubborn, loving, honorable man lost his 5 month battle with lung cancer.
He was my last surviving grand parent. He made a huge impact on my life and i keep him forever in my heart. I post this today for no other reason other than to just share and rejoice in his memory.
he always used to tell me "cry not for what you can't change. Laugh every day and keep all precious memories close to your heart because they will always remain with you."
thank you all for the plusses and comments.. they mean the world to me. to know that someone who my grandfather never met is thinking about him.. even if its just for a moment means the world to me

Our loved ones never leave us. A man I loved very much told me often that the only thing we leave behind after we are gone are what our loved ones and friends think about us. It turns out that he was right. I am sorry you lost your grandfather but you will never lose your memories of him.
andejene20 all that remain are the stories that are retold after we depart. my grandparents are all long gone and my father as well. I think of them often good and bad its makes us who we are.
