In my opinion, the Iowa Caucus needs to be revamped, remolded, or removed all together. The whole process for the democratic caucus is idiotic. For one, it's limiting due to the time frame. One shouldn't have to pick a side and debate who is the best candidate. Also, if your candidate doesn't have a big enough %, one shouldn't have to pick a different candidate. This isn't democracy. There is no grand vote tally. And the whackiest part of this Caucus is when there is a tie, there then becomes a coin flip to see which candidate gets the extra delegate. Sometimes people even go "missing". The county delegate then also gets re-calculated as the "state delegate equivalent". There would be no "virtual tie" if people just had a normal primary, and voted for their candidate on a ballot, plain and simple. It also irks me how the presidential system is so focused on Iowa and New Hampshire when in the long run, both states don't hold nearly many delegates in comparison to other states. These states shouldn't hold so much political power either. Both states are predominately white, rural, and are NOT representative of the USA.
IA and NH are two of the least diverse states. It's not representative of the US as a whole. There is no reason both states should set the tone for the presidential race..
coreyants lol i don't get with the Democratic primary is different than the Republican one? why do the Dems have to discuss in groups who to vote for, but on the GOP side they can just each vote for who they want on a ballot? the Dems should be able to vote for who they want too without having to reach a consensus in a group...
