Coreyants This is not a big deal. The Nc state is notorious for having a large ROTC which most students go to right after Highschool. I understand that bathroom bill is one of the worst discriminatory laws in a while. However, this is really not that bad. Furthermore, many students in NC do not have an interest in ARTS. Furthermore, this was provided with tax payer money and the tax payers were fine with it. Sometime you take things on face value and comment before realizing the whole score of something
I highly doubt that many more people are interested in ROTC than the arts. NC has a lot of art schools. I would not be okay with my taxpayers paying with it. Also I was researching and it's not just the arts, but they've cut the sciences and even history yet they have $$$ to do this. How about helping out title one schools with that $$$. No one needs to know how to use a gun, #sorrynotsorrykoolness234 :*
coreyants First of all you need to realize that district school are paid with district tax money. It is highly likely that in that district arts are not the pursued. Furthermore, art schools do not mean that arts are in high pursuit. You know nothing of the state of NC other than what you have read on media. I am sorry but a lot of the opinions you state on this sight come from highly biased new sources. That skew information to get a rise out of their key demographic viewers. The ROTC is a humongous program in the state. Also who are you to sit here and say this is not valuable. You do not know the kids personally and this shooting range could have a great factor on their lives. You are so quick to criticize something upon its initial release. Maybe you should take a step back and see how this program developed before calling it backward.
koolness234 u forget I'm from Georgia which isn't that culturally different than NC...
IF anything GA is more conservative. There was a religious freedom law and NC is a swing state where GA is always red. So don't act like NC and GA are so different.
just bc they're different historically doesn't mean the two states aren't very similar..i mean c'mon they border one another. but by you saying "You know nothing of the state of NC other than what you have read on media" when I'm from GA where ROTC and the gun lobby is also very popular is BS..
If anything I bet you the ROTC is more popular in GA koolness234
coreyants yes it does if you study history you know that just because state border each other they are not similar. Furthermore if the ROTC is popular in both states how is this gun range bad. Unless the tax payers of that school district dont like the gun range than NC did nothing wrong
True koolness234 but as a history major you got to admit GA and NC have a lot in common... And just because tax papers approve something doesn't mean it's right. Like remember when NC voted for the ban on same sex marriage ? That's what the voters wanted..
the NC law voters passed was before the supreme court decision koolness234
and if they (the tax payers) were happy with it, then why is it a big deal???
and i disagree i think students ought to be having a better education and funding can help do that instead of buying guns. just bc they voted on it doesn't mean they're educated on the issues. ESP with the disgusting amount of gun violence in this country, I do not want my generation shooting guns.
