Why act innocent? Dec 13, 2008
The people who have joined the stars game knew full well that the aim was to let it get very low in order to let newer people join. They have now joined these games knowing full well what they were going and now they're going "oh, i feel so bad now" and "please don't hate us". They knew about the aim and the idea behind it and took the places of those newer people to be selfish, they're not sorry at all otherwise they wouldn't have done it. There's still a button to unenroll which they can still click right now and would click if they were really sorry about it.

Next project in relation to this stars game - Project Evict-The-First-Entrants-First.

7th Nov 29, 2008
So i came 2nd in my most recent game which i'm happy with, but then i looked on my profile page and realised how much i'd come seventh. Looking at this, i decided to make a graph of how often i've come in each position. The amount i've come 7th is quite a lot.

12 hour days Nov 25, 2008
A few days ago me and one of my friends on here were talking about how annoying 12 hour days were in casting games. I just realised today though how much of a disadvantage it actually is.

If you have internet access all day then that's fine, it's not a problem for you but most people work or go to school. If i join a casting game which starts at 2am, i'm not going to be able to go on there for one game "day" because by 2pm, i'm still at college. Something which has happened to me a few times now is i've been playing a game, doing quite well and got up to something like day 7/9 and then because i was inactive for a game day between those hours, i've got kicked out of the game. That disadvantage in the game has now turned into a huge problem because i've been playing a game for quite a few days now and all of a sudden because of this problem, i'm out of the game.

So, what do i suggest? One way of doing it could be to have 24 hour days with 2 evictions at the end of the day, 1 done by the algorithm and 1 done by the voting. Another way could be to keep the 12 hour days but have the algorithm evict somebody once every 24 hours and voting to evict somebody every 12 hours although this might get a bit more complicated.

If you have any ideas on how they could improve on this feature or agree/disagree with me entirely, i'd appreciate you leaving a comment below. :-)

Andrew.

Big Brother Stars - you're getting the wrong idea Nov 16, 2008
Big Brother Stars is based on the uk version of big brother. Unfortunately, people in there have gotten the wrong idea on how to "play" the game.

In the rookies game, you need to make alliances and vote people out in groups in order to progress in the game, otherwise you don't have much of a chance. It's a little bit similar in the casting games although not to the same extent. The reason people nominate tactically in those games is so they can evict people who post lots because those people are more likely to win, therefore stealing the prize from them.

The stars game wasn't made for that though. The best way to suceed in the stars game is to be entertaining and for the public to like you. People's past records in games doesn't matter since getting far in those games is a completely different skill to getting far in stars. It's like somebody being employed as an IT technician because they're good at woodwork, it's a completely different skill.

The people in the stars game don't seem to understand this though and as a result the 2 people up for eviction are the people who have mostly polled 1st and 2nd place in past games. This shows that over half of the people in that game just don't get this.

So what do the people need to nominate based on? The public will never let somebody they don't like win and the people they don't like will not get far. Remember that the public are voting based on who their favourite and least favourite is from the nominees so nominating people who might possibly win is never going to get rid of the favourite to win. You should nomininate people who you don't like in the game. The public will be seeing the same as you are seeing and will most likely follow you and proceed to evict this person.

If you are somebody who watched the UK big brother and the US big brother for at least a series each, you will understand what i mean by this. There are a few people over the 9 years in uk big brother who've tried playing tactically and those people have never won. The winners have always been the people the public like the most.
