Yet here he doesn't say there is anything wrong, and defends them?
ShadowBaller000 she is 25 is a manager at a high class retail clothing store and can curse and say those names if she pleases.

but when conor says he uses them in good humour he starts saying everything is wrong with it?
My only issue is that he goes on about white privilege etc in regards to the 'n' word but I bet he has no problem with black people calling themselves it as friends :x
Like; what's the difference unless it's being used through different tones to be derogatory ;x
Stop giving the filthy rat that he is any attention. He clearly lives for it since the majority of people on here dislike him. He is simply a trouble maker looking to bring other people down.
if this was like a week ago, i would understand. but it was nearly a year ago, and people's opinions can change. i think it is silly to hold a comment against him that he said such a long time ago. and why wouldn't you support the person who doesn't want people to use the "n" word?
i get that the "n" word can be used lightheartedly, but that doesn't really change the connotations that go with it.
Carlisle if you think two black people who are friends calling each other the n word is the same as white people (OR REALLY ANY OTHER RACE BECAUSE SURPRISINGLY, YALL DONT SEEM TO WANT TO UNDERSTAND) joking around using the n word and OFTEN times doing it in the company of black people, you are part of the problem.
And that's not even getting into the non joking uses of the word. There is a difference, there always will be a difference, and instead of asking why you CANT use the word, maybe ask why you want to use a word that has been used to make us lesser, to mark us different. God forbid we try to empower ourselves through it. Try having the history and the context behind the word for your entire life, then you can use it.
The n word is not equivalent to saying the r word. It is not politically incorrect to use the n word as a non black person, it is racist.
im amuzed, i wonder where corey took the moral, when alll what he does is attack people in any way if he doesnt like them, and im sure he will go further if some things wasnt banables here xo
Why in the ruck (yes I said ruck) do some of you white folk want to use the N word so bad?
SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GO COMPLAIN ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE.
OUT OF LITERALLY ALL DOUBLE STANDARDS YOU CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT.. YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO USE A WORD THAT WAS CREATED BY WHITE PEOPLE TO USE AGAINST BLACK PEOPLE. A WORD THAT HAS SO MUCH NEGATIVE HISTORY BEHIND IT AND YOU'RE MAD YOU /CAN'T/ USE IT? IT'S NOT THAT FUCKING HARD TO UNDERSTAND WHY IT LOOKS BAD WHEN A WHITE PERSON IS USING IT COMPARED TO A BLACK PERSON.
YOU USE IT WHEN YOU'RE AROUND YOUR WHITE FRIENDS ANYWAYS SO WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU COMPLAINING? YOU ARE MAD THAT SOME BLACK PEOPLE ARE OFFENDED WHEN YOU USE IT AROUND THEM? ARE YOU STUPID?
I GUARANTEE Y'ALL WOULD THROW A HISSY FIT IF A BLACK PERSON CALLED YOU A RED NECK/WHITE TRASH. BUT IF A WHITE PERSON DID IT Y'ALL WOULDN'T CARE CAUSE THEY'RE WHITE TOO.
JUST LIKE MANY GAYS MAY CALL EACH OTHER THE Q WORD. THEY WON'T TAKE MUCH OFFENSE IF THEY'RE CALLED THAT BY A FELLOW GAY FRIEND, BUT IF A STRAIGHT FRIEND SAID IT, THEY'D BE PISSED.
hold up Timster i agree with your comment but just to clarify the gay thing, it's not considered as offensive anymore to be called a queer even by straight people, cuz it's considered an empowering word now, the issue is more with the F word
Etienne Queer has become a good word association in the LGBT community. Instead of coming out as gay, people will come out as queer. In the old days, it was considered offensive but it isn't anymore with the newer generation
I don't remember that, Timster? What season was it?
And if he was being condescending about it then that's different.. it depends on the context and what else he said.. the word in itself is not offensive like the F word but obviously if it is used to attack then that's an entire different story than if it's used as a joke.
konohavillage1 So you're saying that if another black person called you it; you'd be fine with it & laugh about it and call some other black friends it back.
Yet anybody else; just because of skin colour, it's strictly unacceptable.
Right.
If you don't see your own persecutive racism in that not to mention the double standards then you're clearly a moron.
For the record the only time I've said it in real life was when I was in primary school and had to talk about the country Niger and said it wrong so gtfo my dick acting like I'm racist for questioning why you don't mind if a black person says it konohavillage1
carlisle and yet you're on the defense. And you've gone so far as to try and pull up information that I didn't ask for to try and build your character. I didn't call you racist. I said you're a part of the problem. I am not persecuting anyone, yall should not even want anything to do with that word.
It's not about why you can't, it's about why they can. Black people use that word as a form of reclamation, like how gay people call each other "queer" and the f word. Because it has such a stained ugly past that we want to use it for something different now. And since you don't come from that ugly past, you don't have the right.
People use that word provacotively and as a "buzzword" and it's not. It's a cultural slur that hurts, no matter how many times you say it doesn't. I don't even say the word because IN MY LIFETIME it has been used multiple times against me and I don't like to be around it now, but I fully stand by any black people who want to. My people have hung and died for that word. Get off your ignorant high horse and realize that there's nothing lighthearted about that word and it has no place in anyone's mouth that hasn't come through the struggle of being black
I wasn't calling you a racist konohavillage1 I was exaggerating on your point. I feel the same as you feel about the n word about the f words and even if another gay called me it I'd feel a bit uncomfortable.
If people feel the need to use such words as reclamation then people shouldn't be surprised when other uneducated people start to using it. For example in rap culture etc where it's commonly used. I stand by my original post that if people aren't offended by it when used by certain people then they shouldn't have the right to condemn others who aren't a certain group.
Let's contextualise it in an anecdote. High school cafeteria with your different cliques. Table A; the cool kids; commonly use a word and they all laugh and jeer over it. A person on another table then uses the word and is persecuted & attacked for having done so.
I know your argument is that 'your people have died for this word' but the connotations of this word, in the same way the f word and queer have negative connotations, dictate that it shouldn't respectfully be used at all - by anybody - because otherwise the language itself is stigmatised & normalised.
Tl;dr basically language can't be used as a restrictive force and something to be controlled with exclusivity. If you (general term not specifically you) are passionately against a words use then it shouldn't matter who uses it; 'reclamation' or not. And idc what you say that isn't me being on a high horse. Whilst on an individual & cultural level out pasts are different - I believe that regardless of gender, colour or orientation we are all human beings & deserve equality. Equality doesn't include picking and choosing.
