Notes:
- All songs sent in between TSC 189 to 225 are eligible
- This is based on my personal opinion. Please do not take any offense from what I think of. Strictly my own thoughts
- Contrary to some weird belief, I don't believe that my music taste is better than anyone else's. This list is for you all to have some fun and laugh at possible comments I make.
- I also include some of my own entries, but don't worry, I'm not that arrogant to have more than 10 entries about myself
16. The Pretty Reckless - Heaven Knows
Sent by Zeptis in TSC194, placed 4th with 84 points.
Rock songs usually don't do very well in TSC, but there are always some exceptions to the rule, and this is a great example of it. The song itself never loses its momentum - something that rock musicians these days forget about. There's so much Joan Jett influence in this tune, and I LOVE IT. Take notes, mates.
15. Alex Winston - Careless
Sent by #TolisKalkas in TSC197, placed 10th with 66 points.
I feel like TSC slept on this entry as much as they did with I.AM.L. It is pretty obvious that this is MUCH MUCH better than her winning entry from 2011, but sometimes you win some, you lose some. This is a pretty TSC-esque entry with typical buildup to the chorus, but who cares that such structure is getting overused if it's almost always effective. She's going to be 30 soon, so it's time for her to be popular.
14. Ella Eyre - Together
Sent by Samhuss in TSC196, placed 1st with 101 points.
She's become such a hated artist in TSC for two reasons: being overused as hell, and for consistently releasing music that shits all over the people who regularly send boring-ass music (looking at you, Ryan). Her tone always sounds unique to me - it's that low-to-high vocal progression that made me fall in love with her music. Together with the great production, "Together" (see what I did there) shows that having a great voice doesn't necessarily mean having to sing ballads all the time.
13. Jess Glynne - Don't Be So Hard On Yourself
Sent by #ricktworick1 in TSC209, placed 3rd with 87 points.
This. Fucking. Title. Her longest song name-wise is superior to the other song that has already made an appearance on this list due to better progression from verses to chorus - it's stronger, more like a proper build-up. Do I need to mention that I love her voice? Do I have to write another paragraph about the proper use of production and great melodic line? I think all of that is pretty obvious by now.
