You are put into a small room to survive for the next ten years. It contains a queen bed, a top-of-the-line toilet, a shower, and a sink with running water. There is a big clock on the wall telling you the time and date and another clock with a countdown showing how long you have left in the room. There is a drawer for whatever deliveries might come for you. Every day at 10:00am, some food will be brought to you in the drawer. The choices of food are: ten tasty apples, a bowl of white rice, or two loaves of bread. You may only choose one of those three choices each day for the entire ten years.
There is a rubbish disposal hole that's too small for you to fit through. The air in the room will be kept completely fresh and toilet paper will be sent when needed. If you want anything else, you will have to buy it. The currency is credits, and the way you spend it is the purpose of the experiment.
You start with 30 credits, and can spend these credits on any of the following:
1 credit: An awesome tennis ball.
2 credits: Fine dining Sundays. You get a new menu delivered every Sunday morning with delicious food that would normally only be served in high class restaurants. You get served meals three times a day on Sundays instead of just once.
2 credits: A 52 inch TV that receives the Discovery Channel.
4 credits: An unlimited amount of your favorite beer on tap.
1 credit: 10 good books. You can choose them or have a team of professionals assess your tastes and make recommendations. You may buy this more than once.
5 credits: Your choice of gaming console. Comes with any 10 games. Once every year, you are allowed to choose an extra game. Requires a TV.
2 credits: Unlimited milkshakes! You are allowed to choose three flavors.
5 credits: All you can eat fast food of your choice. You can choose Subway subs, Pizza Hut pizza, or Burger King burgers, but if you want more than one, you have to buy this more than once.
2 credits: US $1,000,000 upon release. You can buy this more than once.
6 credits: Unlimited supply of LSD.
6 credits: A door leading to an awesome gym.
3 credits: All the hygiene products you could ever want. Includes things like soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc.
10 credits: Youth. While locked away, you will not age.
3 credits: Unlimited supply of ditch weed/lighters/paper
1 credit: Daily multivitamins.
4 credits: A media player with 1000 movies of your choice. You will need to have chosen the TV option to get this, though.
4 credits: An mp3 player with unlimited space. You can choose whatever goes on it.
4 credits: You get released one year early. You can buy this more than once, but the price increases one credit each time you do.
4 credits: A musical instrument of your choice.
4 credits: Unlimited supply of your favourite brand of smokes + lighters.
8 credits: While locked away, you can see lectures on any subject.
4 credits: An adorable kitten and everything you will need to take care of it.
