Welcome to Raven, the 11th format of Crisis on Infinite Formats.

Here we will be playing a condensed version of two typical rounds of a Raven week. Each day players will play between 2 and 3 live and/or non-live competitions, which can be individual, team, pair or 1v1 games for Round 1, and just individual games for Round 2.

Raven features an integral scoring/placement system using LIVES and GOLD RINGS. Your success in a challenge will win you Rings, but failure will cause you to lose a Life. Gain 9 Rings and you will trade them back in for an extra Life.

Each player will start off with a number of Lives decided by their Crisis Coin totals coming into this format. Each player starts with a minimum of 3 Lives, and every 2 Crisis Coins equal +1 Life on top of that. Players with odd totals will get equivalent lives to the next lowest even number, but also start with 5 Rings for the spare coin.

Every two days, the player with the least number of Lives and Rings will be forced to face ‘The Way of the Warrior’ elimination - a complex and difficult series of tasks that are designed to only be won by the toughest of players, with failure HIGHLY likely. Therefore it’s intelligent to want to keep away from it at all costs.

Should someone succeed at the Way of the Warrior, they will be admitted through to the next day of the quest with one Extra Life, and the task must then fall upon the next warrior with the least number of Lives and Rings. This process continues until somebody is eliminated. If there is a tie on Lives and Rings at the bottom, Chatzy decides who plays.

In the original Raven format, we’d automatically eliminate a player who runs out of Lives, but for this short late-Crisis variant, we will instead kindly give you the chance to run the Way of the Warrior immediately for a chance to stay in, where failure eliminates you, and success restores you 1 Life.
