I am so pleased I have been able to upload a song. I am sorry if it's not as good as I would have liked but I have done what I can. I rewrote some of the lyrics of this song and did an acapella version for a tribute concert a few years ago. Thought i'd give it another go tonight. The song means a lot to me.

Apologies for the scratchy voice at times, i'm in a professional production this week and last week and using my voice from 9am till 6pm every day (its nearly 7pm here). Its finished by Sunday so I can hopefully produce some better quality recordings for my next performance!

Mostly picked this song just because I love the song and Damien Rice's music. Lyrically, I connect with the lyrics because it describes someone who has been through hardship, pain and longing in his quest for love, which has left him with doubts and cynicism. And though he has been tampered by his past experiences, the song sees him greeted with new love. He fumbles with this realization, for his past has taught him to be cynical. But ultimately, he is open and tries to fight what he has been taught by his mistakes in order to take the optimism of his future. My real life romantic experiences have personally left me beaten down and cynical about my future with love, but at the same time a part of me still has hope.
