It was a wild, wacky, and crazy season, and after 83 grueling days, we are finally down to our Final 2 players. How did they get there, and what else happened along the way? This is your Survivor: Sahara season recap.

It started with 22 brave souls departing for the arid Sahara desert for a journey unlike any other. From the very first moment of the game chaos was present--Millzipede dropped out of the game, leaving two spots open in the Last Spot poll rather than 1. This allowed both Dansterdan AND GHunt to enter the game, and with that, the game was set. The two tribes of Hyrax and Deathstalker were prepared for epic battle.

Yet the first two challenges were ridiculous one-sided. MMMMM, the fearless leader of Hyrax, seemed to outpace Spinner554, the leader of Deathstalker. But the rest of the Hyrax tribe was also dominant in challenge. Hyrax destroyed Deathstalker in the "That's what she said" challenge, and Grahamland was voted out thanks to Spinner's efforts in a 5-3-2-1 vote. In the second challenge, the teams had an extended relay that featured grueling Survivor math problems. Hyrax raced to a 9-1 lead, but found its last member missing, and Keith of Deathstalker, with a chance to come back, gave up at some of the harder questions. It was another crushing defeat for Deathstalker, who voted out Spinner554 in a 6-0 vote for poor organization.

It was then, though, that a twist rocked the game. The two tribe leaders and two other randomly selected players, unbeknownst to themselves, had to rank the players in the game without realizing what the list was for. In the end, a "draft" took place, and 4 new tribes were created: Hyrax, Firefinch, Deathstalker, and Silverbill, all with 5 players each. In the challenge "Coalitions Chaos", the new Hyrax tribe lost for the first time and was sent to tribal council. It was here that an alliance of MMMMM, Snowflake, and Bradyman became clear. Lemonface was voted out for 20th place by a vote of 4-1 despite her attempts to use idol clues as leverage and the fact that she was the only one who participated in the challenge for Hyrax. At the next challenge, Hyrax again lost without any effort in a double elimination challenge and voted out Tennisguy1414 by a vote of 3-1, as its numbers dwindled down to 3.

Meanwhile, Firefinch and Deathstalker established themselves as the dominant tribes in competition. Firefinch especially was consistently winning idol clues for themselves with first place performances. Meanwhile, Silverbill, which had started off strong, started to wilt. In a song challenge that resulted in only 2 tribes being safe for the vote, Silverbill lost alongside Hyrax, and Jag0827--inactive for just about the entire game--was voted out 4-1.

In the next challenge following Titan's week-long break, featuring the game Robot Unicorn Attack, MMMMM reclaimed glory for Hyrax with a superb score, and by virtue of finishing in the top 2, Firefinch was also safe. Deathstalker and Silverbill both went to tribal that night, where Leacroft was voted out for being the weakest player in a 3-1-1 vote and GHunt, who was banned alongside his tribemate Srgeman, was voted out 2-1-1. Following a spamming challenge in which Firefinch again prevailed, and Silverbill was forced to go to their third straight tribal council. With their leader eliminated and most of their tribe not showing up, the tribe was in shambles. Only one vote was cast, and that vote was for Srgeman, who was thus eliminated for 15th place.

Then, a huge moment in the game occured. With the tribes at 3-5-4-2, a change needed to happen in the game. Hyrax and Silverbill, only comprising of 5 players, were combined, and Deathstalker and Firefinch, comprising of 9 players, were also combined. Hyrax and Deathstalker retained their namesakes, and thus, a confusing 9-5 split occured in the camps. The survivors were floored by the offer of a forced mutiny, where two players from the new Deathstal

Deathstalker tribe had to switch over to Hyrax tribe, or Deathstalker would go to 3 consecutive tribals. Many players, including Piddu, Bobrocks, and others considered flipping over to avoid the triple tribal council, but in the end only two players decided to switch. XxandytraicyxX, mostly quiet throughout the game, boldly declared that he was switching for his tribe and retained his loyalty to them. Meanwhile, Insanity17 switched based on a feeling that he was at the bottom of alliances in the new Deathstalker tribe. Thus, the tribes became 7-7.

But rather than competing as tribes in the 7th immunity challenge, they were competing within their tribes for their own immunity. Insanity and Broncman won the Survivor rock-paper-scissors battle and were safe from the vote knowing that they had made the merge. Insanity chose Keitho as the recipient of an added individual immunity necklace, and the tribes went to vote. Piddu was blindsided for 14th by the Firefinch alliance, which controlled the numbers and wanted the threat of Piddu out, in a very close 3-2-1-1 vote. Next, XxandytraicyxX paid the price of declaring his loyalties to Deathstalker, and was voted out 3-2 in a tiebreaker vote just before the merge.

At the merge, the game heated up. The first individual immunity challenge was won by Bobrock333 in a close victory over Insanity17 in Survivor trivia, where both established themselves as challenge threats. With the tribe counts at 6-6, tribal loyalty remained. However, a crucial mistake by Dansterdan awarded her a self-vote and left WoahCourtney safe as Bradyman7, a strong gameplayer in the moments before the merge, was voted off 6-5-1. Woahcourtney then won the next immunity challenge thanks to the help of her survivor-knowledgeable friends,  and Insanity17 was voted out 5-3-2-1 helped by a disjointed Hyrax tribe unable to strike up a coalition of votes. Snowflake3, fairly inactive throughout the game, became more than active in realizing that he was voted out by the newly-titled Oasis tribe in a 7-1-1-1 vote in which the players honorably declared that they would not carry an inactive to the end.

By this point, the Deathstalker alliance (comprised mainly of Firefinch) seemed easily in control, and MMMMM was the clear vocal leader of the crumpling Hyrax alliance of himself, Gabco, Dansterdan, and Keitho. Yet MMMMM continued to be strung along for seemingly no reason. MMAJunkie, though, had become aware of every partnership in the game thanks to asking the players who had left the game. The precision to which he did this allowed him control of the vote for a long time to come...and MMMMM remained off the block despite his constant fights with the other players. This allowed for a blindside to take place at the Final 9. MMA won immunity in the Wikipedia Game, and Bobrocks, who had won 2 out of the first 3 individual immunity challenges, was eliminated 5-2-1-1 and became the fourth member of the jury, both stunned and angered by his former allies.

Dansterdan was voted out next by a 4-3-1 vote, where she thought she was targeted by her former ally MMMMM but was instead eliminated thanks to the Firefinch 4 of MMA, Courtney, Kimmal8, and Broncman789. This secured the dominance of the Firefinch 4. In a surprise quick turnaround to another challenge, MMA eked out a victory over a fearless Gabco, who valiantly fought to keep his life in the game but was voted out 3-2-1-1 and received 7th place. Nobody could figure out why MMMMM was still in the game, but he remained.

At the next challenge, MMA through the challenge to allow MMMMM to secure the victory, hoping that he could eliminate MMMMM at the Final 5 to secure his place into the Final 3 based on the partner twist to the game. But MMMMM pulled an incredibly bold move--he gave up his immunity necklace to Keith, understanding that MMA was trying to keep him around for the partner twist, and dared MMA to let them both stay another round. Additionally, he tried to co

convince the other side that MMA or Bronc would be voted out to get MMA to misplay the idols. Initially, MMA had played his idols on Broncman and himself, but at the last moment, he switched to play them on himself and Woahcourtney. Though his highly-risky move almost succeeded, it was not quite enough, as MMMMM was voted out 4-2 when nobody flipped.

At the Final 5, Keith won an unscrambling challenge that kept him safe for another round. Forced to eliminate one of the Firefinch 4, the trio of MMA, Kimmal, and Courtney stuck together and voted out a hapless Bronc.

It took a 3 week layoff, but the game finally recommenced and in brilliant fashion. A grueling 5-part immunity challenge brought out the best and worst in the players, as their minds were strained to a level unsurpassed by the other challenges. In an incredibly close race between MMA and Courtney, MMA won what he thought was the decisive immunity. At tribal council, allegiances became more unclear, but what was clear was that Keith was seen as the biggest threat. He was voted out 3-1 after some brief arguing about whether MMA would have been eliminated if he had not won immunity. But the players were not in the Final 3 yet--they were shocked to hear that after such a grueling challenge, there was more to come. But following a heated Fallen Comrades tribute that turned into an Angry Comrades Fight, it was clear that MMAJunkie had to win immunity to stay in the game. And so, at around 12:45 am, an endurance immunity challenge began.

After 3 hours and 51 tiresome minutes, MMA fell asleep drunk at his computer and was eliminated just after 4:30 am. Courtney immediately chose to keep Kimmal safe, and MMAJunkie, the mastermind behind many of the evictions and the careful plotter throughout the game, was eliminated from contention in third place.

That brings us to the Final 2...I don't think anybody would have expected this coming into the game. Both were playing in their first Survivor group games and both were far from dominant in the early stages of the game. Let's briefly evaluate each of their cases:

Kimmal8--The definition of a social gameplayer. Clearly made some alliances and was shown to be well-liked during the merge survey challenge. Never targeted for being the mastermind or the backstabber, Kimmal barely received any votes throughout the game. He mentioned last night the behind the scenes work that he did...can he convince the jury that he worked hard enough in this game?

Woahcourtney--Courtney was targeted a few times in the game for being MMA's right hand woman throughout, but she was clearly independent-minded for much of the game. The two were thrust together via their partnership and retained loyalty throughout the different tribe swaps, the mutiny, and the merge. Courtney was solid in immunity challenges and won 3 total, including the epic final challenge spamming almost 4 hours. She was close in a number of other challenges. But she was never the most kind to other players or the jurors...will the jurors be bitter towards the pairing of her and MMA? Will she be able to convince them that she did not simply ride MMA's coattails?

It's time for the jury to decide. Good luck, Final 2.

I voted for Kimmal at this tribal... keitho voted with Court and Kimmal against Bronc.
