Hello ladies of Group 1!  This week, you were asked to create looks based on previous runways from seasons one through three of Tengaged Drag Race!

Nik -   When you first showed me your started look, I told you that there wasn't much rose influence coming off, so what you did was remove the roses you had on your actual outfit and just... hold one?  I didn't understand why you did that.  However, I think the dress is very interesting, albeit cut a little weird.  The mask, I think, could have been removed in exchange for some very interesting makeup to mimic a mask rather than put a less interesting one than Neferti had on.

Ken - While this is kind of plain in comparison to some who really put a lot of work into their looks, I do think this is a successful look from you. Maybe in future rounds I would challenge you to find the balance between over the top and gaudy.

Isaiah - This is ugly and boring. Maybe if you took off the dreadful mask it would’ve helped but your face is also usually pretty awful so I’m glad you kept the mask on. Overall this is a major fail for you.

Nik - I really don't know how I actually feel about this look.  You took a very busy outfit and made it very sleek, but none of the elements in this runway come together to me. The top isn't very flattering, as well made as it is, making your body have no real shape. I just wish it had hugged your body more rather than looking like it laid on top of you.

Ken - I don’t IMMEDIATELY see the inspiration, but once I caught it I thought you captured the essence of the original pretty well. If I had to be nitpicky, the ears are a bit discolored. But that’s literally searching for a critique, like I did for another queen.

Isaiah - I love how intricate this look is and I also love how seamlessly you pulled it off. I will say that there’s some styling issues and you need to work on that. I’m not a big fan of the shawl and I think it distracts from the interesting dress you made. I think it would’ve been better for you if you had let the actual dress be the star. Regardless, I think you did a great job and I’m a big fan of what you’re wearing and the make-up. Good job 2 u.

Nik -   I know the judges are really gonna let you have it this round so I'll try to take it easy on you as well.  If you had done some research, you'd have known that this specific look you based your runway on has already been redone in season three by Neferti.  It was done very well, in fact she actually won that challenge.  You, I think, made the look even busier and messier.

Ken - I like the backstory to this look! AND I really like that I could immediately see that this was inspired by another runway without copying it. The bad thing is I think you made her a bit TOO toxic. It borders on looking unpolished. Side note: I adore the radioactive sign top. Also if you keep that head shape, bring your contour out a little bit.

Isaiah - What is this toxic cumstain around your neck that decides to randomly slither down your arms? What is this wet play-doh you tried to call a wig? What is this extra hand sticking out of your head? This is awful and I’m so, so, so sorry for you. I hope you have your lip sync prepared.

Nik -   Okay you #did #that.  You took a rather cartoony look and made it high fashion and runway and I applaud you on that.  I love the alien essence coming from the makeup.  The lack of eyebrows, the white liner that gives the illusion of giant eyes, the face shape.  This was very well thought out and I applaud you for such a strong start.

Ken - WOW. You truly showed an astral projection this week. Im sure this look is straight stolen from some KPOP video but I’m stunned. The detail is really good, complete with body armor that “doesn’t make sense for your job but your tiddies gotta be out,” AND THE ARMS ARE PROPORTIONATE AND NOT UGLY!

Isaiah - I love this. It’s fun, it’s campy, it’s glamorous, it’s polished, it makes me feel ALIVE. You were another person who stepped up and did your absolute, 100% best in the first round and that’s exactly what makes a winner in this competition. Congratulations on already making your mark tbh.

Nik -   I quite enjoy this piece sans the wings on your head, which is a problem considering they seem to be the focal point of your look.  I like the butterfly lacing on the headpiece and the top is gorgeous and very flattering, but I felt like you could have done more with the crow aspect of the look.

Ken - This is very much a great runway. The only complaints I could possibly have are that A) I don’t see the inspiration from the salvaged look. B) There’s a BIT of a disconnect between your runway and your story behind it. It’s nothing major, just keep it in mind that if you say you aren’t phased, you probably want a more neutral looking face (eyebrows might help!) Again though, pretty flawless.

Isaiah - This is hands down my favorite look so far. It’s polished, it’s beautiful, it has a “wow” moment. Everything about this is exactly what I’d expect someone to start the competition off with. I’d say everyone else should look to you for inspiration because you’re already setting yourself up to be a front-runner in this competition. I don’t have a lot of criticisms. I’m not sure if I’m a huge fan of your new face but WHATEVS. It’s still cute and the look is fabulous so KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Nik -   Let me just start by saying despite what the other judges think, I adore your makeup, it's very charming and different and if the intention was to help you stand out then you've done it. However, I can tell you're going to get critiqued on it if it continues to look like that, so I suggest softening it up.  Moving onto your look, I liked how you took inspiration from Junge's look and kind of deconstructed it and made it your own.  The barbed wire/caging across the chest looks great and the actual clothing's detail is beautiful without being too derivative.

Ken - OK, I’m sure I’m not gonna be only one concerned with your contour, so I’m gonna skip that. The overall runway is interesting, and if you survive this week unscatched then I am anticipating what else you have. For now, I would work on different makeup techniques.

Isaiah - I would actually be a very big fan of this look if you had deleted it and never posted it in the first place. I think the contour is awful, I don’t understand why she has oragami on her head or why her earring is upside down and I don’t like your color choices. I would love to praise the interesting aspects of this look but everything else is too much of a flop for me to really wanna give you any positive feedback.

Hit or miss queen. Always a quarrel.

Nik -  I actually loved this.  I think the makeup is beautiful. I love the robe, and I love the pregnancy concept. You’re literally giving me life with this.

Isaiah - I like this. The make-up is nice, what she’s wearing is cool, and the concept is there. You came in with an idea and I think you executed it well. I’m kinda thrown off by the whole pregnancy part of it but just in general I’m not a fan of the super like out there concepts so I’m sure other people will appreciate what you did there.
