The last tribal council to use an idol is the final five. You may use it at any tribal council before then that you attend.

Idols before the merge will not be re-hidden. If a merge idol is found and used very early on, it MAY be re-hidden, however it is unlikely that we will see more than 3 idols hidden.
There is an idol hidden at both tribe camps and another at merge camp.
