People are quick to romanticize the past, and forget a lot of the darker sides of it. Behind the aesthetic of cute dresses and permed hair, the 50s was an age of segregation, and the birth of the civil rights movement in America. Arguably this was sparked by Rosa Parks, a black woman who refused to give her seat on a bus to a white man.

My outfit is inspired by Rosa, based on one of her famous looks, and I've added cute little buses onto the dress.
As a black woman, Rosa is my idol. Next to Rachel Dolezal, of course.
I've taken a risk here, but hopefully it pays off. I never miss an opportunity to make a bad-humoured political statement.
