Competitions:

Roadblock: One of the players competes a challenge. They switch off each time there is a roadblock.

Detour: Players complete one of two challenges. They complete it together. You can switch detours once but you must "drive" there which takes time.

Stop Light (Not on CBS): Players compete a challenge together. They don't have a choice.

Speed Bumps: The team that survives last place in a non-elimination round. For Leg 2 no team has a speed bump even though no one is eliminated in Leg 1.

Flights:

Flights work similar to CBS.

If Team 1 finishes first then they start immediately the next day. If team 2 finishes 7 minutes after team 1 the previous day then they start 7 minutes later. If team 6 finishes 1 hour and 12 minutes late then they start 1 hour and 12 minutes later.

There will be pre-determined flight times. There are always 2-3 that take off within the first 3 hours. After three hours you can take a flight every 30 minutes on the half hour. All flights will take a pre-determined amount of time before landing.

Driving:

Driving will take a pre-determined amount of time for some of the driving; however, some of the taxi rides will be a random amount of time based on which Taxi driver you get.

*Only one player must be active to drive.

Pit Stop:

*To arrive at the pit stop both players must check in.

Questions:

Please do not hesitate to mail/skype me or Crypt throughout each leg.

Example:

Team 1 was first place on Leg #4. They are now competing in Leg #5. The leg begins at 8:00 PM EST. They drive to the airport and arrive at 8:11. The first flight is at 8:37. They don't have to do anything until the flight lands. Say the flight lands at 9:15. Then they begin at 9:15.

Adding on to the Pit Stop:

All Pit Stops will be on blogs. The clue will specify which area the teams are to search in, and when teams find the blog they will post a comment that is indicated in the clue.

Penalties:

If teams cannot complete a task or they complete a task incorrectly, they will face a penalty. All penalties will be carried out in the Skype chat. Teams will continue as normal, but they will not check in immediately after finishing the leg. Once they are done, one of the hosts will post a "__ penalty start" and a "__ penalty end" in the team's Skype chat. After the end message is posted, both members of the team will have to post "DONE" in the chat again. After they both post the required message again, they will officially check in.

Working Together/Helping:

Teams are allowed to help each other but once a team leaves a challenge or checks in they are no longer allowed to help teams behind them.

Disadvantages:

Each even leg (except for the final leg) will include some type of "disadvantage." You will encounter most of these on the legs, like the real Amazing Race. Sometime during a leg, you will be given a sign/Google Forms instead of a clue. This sign will include the disadvantage, a description of a disadvantage, and the available slots. Unlike the U-Turn in the real race, you will not know who has placed the disadvantage on you until the end of the leg.

Here's what the disadvantages and what some do:
Yield - A team is forced to stop whatever they're doing and wait for 30 minutes.
Hazard

U-Turn - A team is forced to complete the other side of the detour.

There is also one special one:
Flight Delay - Everybody will vote for this on the leg prior to the leg this disadvantage is used on.

Mutiny:

After each odd numbered leg, you will have the chance to mutiny. To mutiny, you need to mail or Skype both hosts the phrase
"I WISH TO MUTINY."
You cannot mutiny twice in a row. That means that if you mutiny between legs 1 and 2, you can't mutiny between legs 3 and 4. Beware, it will be revealed if you decided to mutiny or not. There are certain scenarios when it comes to mutinies:

1 person mutinies - no change in teams
even number of people mutiny - new teams are randomly formed between the mutineers; left over partners randomly make new teams
odd number of people mutiny (>1) - no change in teams

Leg Prizes:

As usual, the winners of the final leg get the grand prize: one gift each. However, there will be additional prizes for the other legs. Some will actually be useful, and others will just troll you. You'd better hope that luck is on your side! Enjoy your last few hours in America before you embark on your journey across the world.

ROADBLOCK RULES:

Each player must complete 5 before the final leg.

If a player has completed 5 roadblocks any roadblock they complete after (before the final leg) will result is 30 minutes being added to their time.
