Here is the unofficial list of races to choose from (you can pick something else but I will have it added here later).

Humans: For as long as Father Time can remember, humans were insignificant beings in the world of Fae. They did not contribute until as early as the 12th century. Humans were then coming more into contact with the Fae and started to use them, kill them for their power. Since then, Fae have had a strong dislike to humans...some of them that is. But with the treaty of peace, humans are now allowed inside the gates of Magik Academy. They can study any or all four elements as they wish. Those who study light magic are called wizards. Those who study dark magic are called witches. Those who choose neither side are just humans.

Fairies: Fairies (Males: Pixies) adore the Mother as if she was her own. The second oldest of the races, they enjoy flying around, casting all types of spells, granting wishes, etc. Their relationships with the humans are more positive. The fairies can study any element they wish but can only choose one per fairy. Their leaders are Queen Titania and King Oberon

Elves: ~Moon Elves are much more reserved and quiet. They would rather study and gain knowledge than fighting. They enjoy studying humans over all but still look down upon them and consider them an inferior race. The prefer air and water, but can study any or all four elements as well as learn to use both light and dark magic. They rely heavily on magic. Their leader is the Queen of the Moon Elves.
~Sun Elves are more extroverted. They enjoy parties and fighting and tournaments. Always up for an arm wrestle or taking care of dragons. They don't like studying and would rather be outside. Are more akin to light magic as well as the elements fire and air. They are neutral when it comes to humans. Their leader is the Chief of the Sun Elves.

Mermaids (+ other sea creatures unspecified as of now): Mermaids lurk beneath the waters, playing with the sea creatures, spying on man, or luring them to their death. Depending on the type of mer creature they each have a different relationship with humans. Mainly study water element. King Triton is their leader as well as worshiping the God Neptune.

Vampires: Creatures of the night lurking for blood. Many despise humans, some are more neutral, very few like them for there are vampires that once were human. Usually studies dark magic and the element fire. Their leader is the Queen of the Vampires.

Harpies: Women with wings that soar in the air. Study air, usually light magic. No leader. Humans are playthings to them.

Werewolves: Come in packs, do not usually study magic. Are partially human and have a soft spot for them.

Dragons: The dragon race despises the humans, very cliquey and only stick with their kind. They do not like other races of Fae as well and tend to be bullies (water dragons however defy this stereotype). No defined leader. No defined side of light or dark. Favors Fire and Air, unless it is a wyrven or other type of dragon then they can be water or Earth focused magic users.

Angels: God's messengers sent from Heaven above. Their relationship with Mother Nature isn't strong, mostly siding with God. Their relationship with humans is, for the most part positive. they prefer not to acquaint themselves with light or dark magic and focus more on their heavenly studies. It is possible for humans to become angels. Most angels act pompous or better than other species. They despise demons and fallen angels.

Dryads: not much is recorded on dryads. They are tree nymphs who are mostly shy and don't talk much. They are known to be kind to those who deem worthy. They can be very dangerous and their human forms are as bewitching as their dryad form. Usually solitude creatures, they don't have a one true leader. They do think highly of the goddess Artemis. They are greatly afraid of humans and turn into a tree on sight of a human. They are inclined to study light magic.

Demons: Demons are the complete opposite of angels in every aspect. Following the word of Satan himself, the respect Father Time more than The Mother, but would never tell that to her face. They're relationship with humans is only for contracts to the devil, casting curses, and possession. They primarily study dark magic, for it is forbidden to study light magic. Demons who study light magic are shunned by other demons and will not be accepted with angels. They also despise angels, and respect fallen angels.

Fallen Angels: There are two types of fallen angels. Those who are proud of their dark wings and separating from God, happy to work with demons and devils; and those who want to return to Heaven. Since there are polar opposites within this singular race, their beliefs, studies, and thoughts on humans depends on each fallen angel. They have no specific leader and are prone to be loners.

~Ogres: Ogres have a history of pillaging and eating human flesh. That is not fully true. They do like to destroy things and have bad tempers, but they are very family oriented and despise humans for spreading rumors and lies about them for years. They are usually chill and do not care for magic. The females, on the other hand, try to use magic as much as they can, not really picking a side, light or dark. They, like the sun elves, enjoy loud parties, booze, and fighting.

~Trolls: Trolls are just a smaller and smarter version of ogres. They are more sneaky and play pranks on humans and fairies. They don't care about other races, only themselves. They gather in hordes but do not like the company of more than 5 other trolls at a time. For that would cause fighting. Potions are their specialty but have been known to favor dark magic. There is a rumor of the infamous Troll King, but there is no concrete evidence of him. Trolls, on the other hand, believe that he is real and alive and worship him like a god.

~Wendigo: Wendigo's aren't all cannibals. Some are vegans who enjoy starbucks and scaring the shit out of teens who stay out too late in the forest. The new generation of Wendigos want to clear their name and be more than just cannibalistic spirit monsters or be labelled as one monotonous thing. Magic of every variety of magic so anything goes. Just...no battling. There is no differences between gender but many do roam in packs. Many do not want to side with the dark but the older generation and those like them do.
