Hi! Plussed! You can acquire more $T's and karma by playing and doing well in games. :) I recommend the traditional Castings as opposed to the Fastings (although Fastings are certainly fun). Castings are more simple because you just have to talk to your fellow housemates and do decently well in the challenges and you'll be on your way to the next color level in no time!
Yes! That guarantees you at least some karma and some $T's. You need 15 karma and $30 T's to get to the next color level, Yellow. You can see the list of color levels and payouts for the games here: http://www.tengaged.com/static/faq

As a white level you can play a fasting or a casting...fastings are more strategic and usually require a lot of backstabbing. Also they are fast games! Castings take a lot longer, a few days, and are more of a social game. You can meet a lot of cool people in them and make friends, butt here also good for making you money and karma because you don't need to make final three to win some money/karma. And to upgrade your color level you can check the shops, and once you do you can play more games.
And yes, final three in fastings will get you some money and karma :)
