(+/-) Kyle Jason ~ S32: Kaôh Rōng

9thDec 11, 2016 by BlueBarracuda
imageJason was a castaway on Survivor: Kaôh Rōng and he was originally a member of the To Tang (Brawn) tribe. He formed an alliance right away with Scot, as well as Jenny and Cydney. The four formed the majority on To Tang and decisively decided to spare Alecia during the first Tribal by voting out Darnell. When Jenny proved to be an untrustworthy ally, Jason joined Cydney in flipping and voting her out, once again sparing Alecia. Jason and Scot were rough on Alecia, calling her “Blondie” and constantly questioning her worth and placement on the ‘Brawn’ tribe. Continuing their losing streak, Alecia was finally voted off, after she and Jason struggled over ownership of the immunity Idol, which Jason ultimately found first. On Day 12, he was separated from Scot and sent to the new Chan Loh tribe, where he finally received a break from Tribal Council when newChan Loh went on a winning streak. He and Cydney formed a bond with Nick and Michele during this time.

Jason made the merge on Day 17 and reformed his alliance with Scot, who brought in Tai as an ally. Jason later found out Tai also had an Idol and they could use them to form a super Idol.  He wanted Brawn to team up with the Beauty tribe members and “shove the geeks in the lockers”. He found himself in the minority after Nick was blindsided and Cydney turned on them, so he and Scot retaliated by sabotaging camp and hiding the machete. Their antics further alienated them from their other tribe mates. Jason was pissed, wanting to win the game so he could provide for his autistic daughter, so he and Scot sought revenge on Cydney, although they were unsuccessful and continued to be in the minority. With Julia forming a bond with his side (playing both sides), they came up with a scheme to use the super Idol to shake up the game. Jason managed to win Individual immunity, so he gave his Idol to Scot. At Tribal Council, Scot gave the Idol to Tai, only for Tai to back out of their plan and join the others in voting out Scot. Jason wanted revenge on Tai, but was unsuccessful, and Julia went home instead. Completely alone at this point, Jason was unsuccessful at winning another individual immunity and was sent home on Day 32, becoming a member of the jury. He voted for Michele to win.

Jason’s luxury item was a teddy bear and considers himself a Survivor superfan, watching since he was 16 years old when he was devastated when Rudy came short of going to the Final Tribal Council. After being voted out himself, he was immediately hospitalized because of an infection on his foot. After seeing Neal removed from the game, he hid it from producers, knowing they’d pull him out of the game.

If you like the castaway, plus (+), if you don't, neg (-). Use your own criteria. Make sure you vote in all the polls on the blogs to the left. Let me know if you want to be tagged (or untagged).

in retrospect I guess he was kind of a good villain? but I don't think he interests me enough to warrant me liking him but idk I guess I need to rewatch KR

patrick319 yikes, rewatch immediately if u actually believe in the first sentence u just wrote

Patrick319 I agree, he was not a one-dimensional villain like most of them are, he is just a father who is trying to provide for his family, he lies for a living as a bounty hunter, and he is playing a cutthroat game he's been a fan of since he was a teen. I would still neg, if I had the ability to neg my own blogs, but at least he was fleshed out, even though he was an ass.

yea, anyone who calls him a "good" villain clearly doesn't know the difference between being a villain and being a straight up disgusting cunt

I will always argue that Jason is a good villain. I loved watching him. Why is he a "bad villain"? Because he was mean to Alecia, one of the dopiest contestants the show has seen? OR because he sabotaged camp, because that is admittedly a baby move yet J'tia is glorified.

Jason comes from a heavy miltaristic background, and the chain of command in the military is fairly simple: you earn each other's respect or you don't get respected. That's not how I live my life and it's not one I smile upon but you have to look to these things to explain behavior. Jason was over the top, stirred up shit left and right and couldn't be trusted. These are the things that make up a Survivor villain, and you don't have to like Jason but I think to argue that he isn't a good villain is bullshit.

dumbginger he literally voted in minority at like every tribal post-merge, he did nothing to change the game at all, his idol even got wasted, he was bitter against cydney just because she switched alliances, idc if he didn't like alecia or if she annoyed him, he completely bullied her instead of just leaving her alone, he was a complete asshole that just got lucky he was on a brawn tribe where almost everyone is like that.
Sent by Zircon,Dec 11, 2016
zircon I didn't argue that Jason was a good player. I don't see how changing the game or being a skilled player has to do with villainy.  And no, Alecia was not bullied. Everyone on the Brawn tribe INCLUDING ALECIA stated that 95% of negative things said towards her only really occured in her boot episode, and most people say Alecia was an annoying little shit around camp and in challenges.

Not liking somebody and not being nice to them does not equate to bullying.
Sent by DumbGinger,Dec 11, 2016
dumbginger He was not just MEAN to alecia though....he straight up bullied her the entire first 4 episodes and then after her boot continuously acted cocky up until cydney flipped alliances where he proceeded to just mope around for the rest of the season acting like a victim, ESPECIALLY after tai refused to make the super idol to save his closest ally.

How can you just say he was "being mean" to alecia when it was literally nonstop harassing her to the point where he literally knocked her to the ground for a fucking idol and put her down challenge after challenge when all she was trying to do was keep the team motivated.

I dont wanna hear that "militaristic" BS, there is no excuse for his sort of behavior.

dumbginger a villain should be able to make moves with people. His own alliance got tired of him within a week and tried to vote him out second. He connected with NO ONE on any of the other tribes besides Tai and Julia, and Julia only worked with him because she wanted to go to the end with someone no one would vote for. Even Cydney turned on him because he was that unlikable. He's just an awful person, not a villain.
Sent by Zircon,Dec 11, 2016
zircon never have I heard the definition of a villain being "someone that is able to make moves with people". This would make Randy Bailey, Corinne Kaplan, Abi Maria, etc all not villains.

A villain is someone who the audience and/or the rest of the cast actively roots against. Someone who seemingly has no morals, causes disharmony, etc. Not "someone who makes moves".

mattmon3365 See my earlier comment. He did not bully Alecia. Alecia HERSELF has said that any means comments towards her were NOT said until her boot episode, in addition to every other member of the Brawns tribe saying that Alecia was not only a major pain to deal with but also frequently went out of the way to start shit with Jason and Scot.

And what was he supposed to do with that idol, may I ask? Was he supposed to politely say "Hey Alecia, I see you're about to grab that idol and use it to single handedly boot me out of the game, could you please not grab it instead? That'd be appreciated.". If Alecia got that idol, Jason was done right then and there. Why would he NOT push her away from it? It's not like he jumped on top of her and started punching her teeth in. He made sure he got the idol and nothing else.

"keeping her team motivated" means literally nothing if she herself is doing nothing in the challenge. Go back and watch that challenge where Caleb gets removed. She is literally standing there and kicking sand around a bit. Like back on top of itself where she just kicked. Meanwhile, to sit there and be like "go team! yay us! we're great! ra ra ra!" while the sun is literally making people collapse? There's a time and a place for shit like that and when you're that physically exhausted and in that much pain, the last thing you wanna hear is a cheerleader in your ear who is not helping at all.

I Liked Him I Seriously Don't Get How He Bullied Alecia I rewatched it several times and I don't see one sign of bullying believe me I have been bullied almost all my life maybe some mean comments yes but they never put her down even if Scot did say "Keep Cheerleading" How The Heck Does that lead up too Your Worthless he even explained why he said that and yet she still continued too be a pain in the ass He is Arrogant a lot but I liked why he was there and I just liked his character
