I vividly recall the moment in 2015 when I created a blog on Tengaged Brasil to share my conviction that I was on the right path by studying history and aspiring to become a teacher. Now, seven years have passed, and today I was pleasantly surprised by a touching tribute from my 8th-grade students: a bouquet of flowers accompanied by an heartfelt letter.
Being a teacher is a challenging task, especially in the Brazilian context, and being recognized by my own students is truly extraordinary. This display of appreciation makes all the effort and dedication worthwhile, reinforcing my conviction that I chose the right profession.
In the letter, it says
"Not only our teacher, but also our father, brother, and friend; he was not just one of the most important people in our lives. His thirst for knowledge and his willingness to impart it are priceless. We will always remember your classes, laughter, gossip, Friday games, Hopi Hari, advice, and how you encouraged us to have more confidence and believe in ourselves. We want to thank you for inspiring us and for being such an incredible teacher.
You are an extremely special person to us, and we are grateful to have known this amazing man. Everyone needs a Ramon in their lives, and we are fortunate that you were a part of our 2023 as a teacher. Thank you for teaching us to be amazing individuals like you, and we love you for being this spontaneous person. We appreciate everything you have given us during this year, and we are very proud to be your students. We will always remember you as a wonderful person with great affection, and we wish you all the best. May you continue to be the outstanding teacher that you are.
<33 I work with middle schoolers so any time they show even the slightest bit of gratitude it makes me happy - this would have made me cry!!! Such a sweet message
