Big Brother and online Hunger games.

Long long day...

Jul 28, 2008 by CitizenSix
In real life, that hazy world this side of the computer screen, I've had a long day. At 8.30 this morning I caught a coach to London, arriving just after 1.00. I wandered around town in the scorching heat, carrying a bag of clothes and a portfolio of work (and a handful of books), until 3.00 when I was due to start work. Sat in a design studio for another five hours, then was told I didn't have to stick around til 10.00 and could go home. finally got home at about 9.00, ate a microwave meal, and finally got online to check out whether I'd been nominated. I had.

Two stand out things in this long day.

1. Read a book on the coach down, by Robert Rankin. He's an aquired taste, but I've aquired it somewhere down the line and don't see to be abe to shake it loose. The book, Fandom of the Operator, is about a guy called Gary Cheese, with an unnatural attraction to the dead. Weird story, but entertaining.

2. Just watched UK Big Brother, where 'the housemates from heaven' got to see the pre-going-in videotapes of 'the housemates from hell' - I'm just wound up by Rex, who has some disturbing vendetta against Rachel, because he thinks she's fake (and can't fathom how she might be all bubbly and chatty on tape, and a little more cautionary in the flesh). I don't know, I think he's a horrid piece of work.

Tomorrow I'll have a bit more online time. Should be able to get a bit of music time courtesy of www.last.fm - I've been missing my music, and it's something that's a big part of my life. I guess I expected Tengaged to get people discussing music, books, films, pets, 'stuff' a bit more. Maybe it's not really about that. or maybe I need to start the ball rolling.

Ah well. Goodnight.

Oh, just noticed I got a point of karma too. That's ended the day with an added bonus!
