Amanda Todd

This is a terribly sad story, yes. My sympathy goes to her soul as well as to her family. However, there is something else that should be said.

There is WAY too many people spending hours everyday mourning this girl, liking her pictures on Facebook, writing goodbyes, dedicating Youtube songs to her, etc.

Instead of giving pity to a girl who has already committed suicide, how about you talk to that lonely kid at lunch? Yea, the one who sits all alone in the corner. But no, you'd rather sit with your friends and then come home and get on Facebook and say stuff like "Oh, how come no one helped poor Amanda, she's so pretty, why did she have to die?".

That's SO WRONG! This case is out there to raise AWARENESS to the issue of bullying. We've lost a beautiful girl, but there are thousands of other boys and girls who really need help are only an arms length away.

Oh, and we should also be talking about people who were bullied and managed to survive through it all. The success stories. Because that's what gives kids hope, the ones who know what it's like to be in their shoes. The ones who have walked that road before and came out ok!

What kind of message does it send to impressionable teens that we spend so much time mourning Amanda? That if you go ahead and kill yourself you'll get thousands of likes on a Facebook page and everyone will feel sorry for you and give you the attention you needed in life?

These are just some thoughts on the issue...

RIP Amanda Todd.
