How do I tell someone

Aug 14, 2021 by Jacadeux
That they need to get vaccinated after they've told me they don't trust doctors? I'm gratefully vaccinated, and very pro vaccine, but my brother and his wife are choosing not to. They have no trust in the medical system. The second they heard that there might be another booster, it was all the evidence they needed to say that they were right all along. That the doctors don't actually know what they're doing. They're not scientifically minded, and so approaching them from that direction will not work.

There are still doctors who believe black people feel less pain.
There are still doctors performing conversion therapy.
There are still doctors overprescribing opioids.
There are still doctors who ignore menstrual pain in women.

Like. There ARE TERRIBLE doctors out there doing things in the name of "Medical Science".  And I sincerely don't know how I can advise them that at least where this is concerned, they should trust the doctors. They don't like, watch the news or anything. They get their info from Facebook, and I only just found out that they were so far down this rabbit hole. I legit thought everyone I knew was on the same page as me.

I'm not a medical professional, but I work in IT support at a hospital. I'm privy to daily mid-management briefings where they talk about all the regional numbers. I tell my brother whatever I can, but it doesn't make any difference.

i have friends who are engineers and teachers and don't want it (it's not just the uneducated), there's only so much we can do.

See this is the interesting thing about the way people think is that if someone isn't OPEN to having their mind changed they probably won't care about anything you have to say
