WHen i host games i always make my own shit up. nothing is ever live.. i dont care if that takes the fun out of it but i just dont do live competitions.
What Alyxandra said is right. You can't copyright anything or patent it. About the only thing you can do is get mad and talk bad about someone who takes your idea.
However, twists are taken all of the time and challenges are created which are similar to other hosts challenges. There's a point where things kind of begin to become the same in general throughout many groups.
Generally I don't take challenges, but if anything hosts should be helping each other out with challenges.
But in all seriousness Janelle_Pierzina you're awesome, but it's hard to find who created certain challenges. I've seen soo many challenges used in different group games I don't even know where to get permission on it. That's like Pass the torch belongs to someone but no one knows who the fuck came up with it lol. But we all use it tbh!
Besides we're not making money off of your challenges therefore it's not really copyrighted. Because if that's the case, did you get CBS permission to do Survivor? However I understand how you feel, and I will never intentionally use your challenges without asking you first.

only thing I don't like about this is that half the time, challenge you "came up with" are challenges from older groups. I know that challenges can be hard to come by, so I just tell other hosts that they can use my challenges anytime (if they need non-live ones).
Obviously, if you came up with a brand-new, never-before seen challenge, it's fine that you want credit, just don't ask for credit for generic challenges.
You've been being all pissy when people take challenges from your group that aren't original. I remember when you got all pissed off at suitman13 when he took your "territory wars" challenge.
That challenge is NOT original. I've seen that challenge in groups before you even joined tengaged. That's just 1 example of that. Please get off of your high-horse, and just deal with it. It's something that just happens, and you really can't tell other people how to run their groups.
I personally don't take challenges from other groups (since I run my group non-live) but that doesn't mean I can't. I don't see other hosts bitching about it.

Like I said, I love you Dylan. If you see me use a challenge similar to yours let me know and I'll credit you. But I'm trying to make sure that most of the challenges I use are original and I make it myself (with the exception of PTT and Create a flag). However the fact remains there are only so many challenges you can do so chances are a challenge that you may think is original may be quite similar to another challenge some where, you know?
