It's funny, but I never really cared too much for these exercises in prose on a blog. Blogs always seemed like a shouting match at an invisible opponent, something totally pointless to deal with.
A blog is where you can vent frustration yes, or discuss what you wish to about your life or whatever you like. But a blog is also where people troll you and do damage based on the comments they give. It's like a private journal in a public forum, and it causes more conflict then it's worth.
But, blogs are good to have. If anything, writing stuff down is usually a great exercise in venting frustration, as I have said already. It is also a change to get creative juice flowing, or to vent an opinion in a non-trivial matter. It doesn't matter how popular your blog is, how many views you get or the amount of points you win for it, but what matters is what you write, and if it's with feeling or substance, it's a damn good tool to have.
