Many of you may have noticed that I have disappeared from tengaged for over a week. I want to tell you guys what's been happening. It all started on Saturday 21st. I got a coach to cardiff to go meet up with a bunch of my friends. We all meet in a town near cardiff where my best friend is studying psychology foundation and has a house so it was perfect for a meet up and party. Saturday was great, with meet ups, hot drinks, games and going out for walks.
Sunday was the night of the first party. In which university students were invited and some societies such as the LGBT society. The party was in full swing with my best friend (Abbie) as host. She said she wouldn't drink so she could look after people and although I drank, i promised I would help her any way I can to make sure the party goes well. First a girl (Brit) pulled me outside and told me about an incident with my Best friend that involved confronting a rapist and indirectly calling Brit a rape victim, which she was very uncomftable with and had asked Abbie not to. My best friend heard her talk about her and shouted at me and the girl for talking about her in her party. Then when i went upstairs to find another friend (Claire) crying in a room and drunkenly confessing to having depression and suicidal thoughts. She also confessed to ruining her relationship with two different men who she liked at different points because she hates herself. I was then pulled out the room by another girl (Diane) who was my best friends fuck buddy. She shouted at me being a lousy friend to Abbie and bitching about her with Brit (Who had left the house). The constant drama of a party which meant to be fun made me snap and i shouted at her
"How dare you call me a lousy friend! I have spent around £70 to get here, a further £50 on drinks and spent all today cleaning for the party. I have known Abbie for two years and you have known her for about a month. So why don't you piss off little girl. All you do is try and get in Abbie's pant's and it's pathetic. Take your nasty ass hair and your nasty shit breath and go stink up somewhere else!" -A friend of mine told me what i said the next day
She left crying after i had shouted at her and my best friend was in her room crying and i went to check on her. She wiped her tears away and pretended everything was okay and told me to go have fun. But i noticed the side of her face was red, as if she was hit. I tried to stay in the room with her but she shoved me out and locked it. I stood outside the door trying to talk to her for hours before i passed out on the floor.
The next day no one really talked about the party. We cleaned up, sent off people who fell asleep and made a big breakfast. A few days of not talking about it happened, including us streaming horror games on twitch. Finally one day when me and Abbie were left alone she told me how she had been pushed into having sex with a girl she thought was her friend that night called Emily. Not only was she upset about the sexual assault, but her closest friend for about 7 years, who she refers to as her little brother (Fred) encouraged emily to have sex with Abbie, pressuring abbie to have sex with emily despite saying she did not want to. She also told me how she had been cutting this week and showed me the scars on her wrists. We cried for a few hours and went to have a coffee. I was meant to go home on wednesday but since she would be alone in the house, i choose to stay at her house and skip a week of uni to make sure she was okay.
I spent from tuesday to monday 30th looking after her on my own, cooking cleaning and helping her cope with what happened. Things also got worse when the police called to tell her about her taking her ex to court for emotional, physical abuse as well as causing Abbie's ex friend to rape her, who is also going to court. I am currently a witness to the abuse and a character witness.
On monday, Brit came back and took over from looking after Abbie and we all agreed to go to the uni that Abbie goes to about this. That's about it.
I want to thank bigdizzleyomama for talking to me through this difficult and depressing time. We all have to work together to make sure things like this never happen. With that being said I will be active on TG again however, i may have to go back to cardiff or required to go to court to testify.
I hope Abbie gets justice served for what happened to her, and I hope you can find some solace from what you and her have had to go through. Much love, Mags. <3
