This is going to be a long post about bullying, so I apologise in advance.
I have just watched 'The Bully Project' documentary that aired a few years ago in the US. I am absolutely disgusted.
People go through their lives being bullied and victimised for certain characteristics that they have. They could be a little camp, a little nerdy, have glasses, have braces, be gay, be bisexual and so on. Why is that an issue? Why do people deserve to be bullied? Do people REALLY think it can be ok to treat others in such a way just because of their sexuality, personality or look?
Bullying needs to stop. People need to do something about this. Speak up. People are bullied to the point of suicide. Take Tyler Clementi, a smart boy with a great future ahead of him doing well in school and had a loving supporting family. The only 'problem' was that he was gay. He was publicly outed by his room mate. He was bullied so much for acting gay, and bullied even more when someone else decided to out him to the school. Tyler killed himself when he was 18 years old. 18. He was bullied to the point that he didn't want to live any longer. How can ANYONE justify that? Whether you don't agree with someone being gay or whatever, it's completely disgusting and shameful to ever bully someone to the point of making someone feel like they want to kill themselves.
Another boy - 13 years old - is bullied and called "fish face" every single day. He is told at the bus stop whilst waiting for the bus that he will be killed, have his throat slit and told that he isn't allowed to even look at people. This boy goes home to his room and cries every day. He has NO friends whatsoever. It absolutely breaks my heart.
A boy who is 12 is called abusive words every day because he appears 'gay'. His response to being asked how he feels was "That there isn't any point in living." This boy is TWELVE years old, and he feels like there is no point in living? I can't even IMAGINE what he goes through.
Someone else got RAN OVER by people in his class for being gay. It's utterly disgusting.
I won't go on any longer, and doubt anyone on here will read past the first line, but I'm BEGGING anyone on here to help stop this. If you know someone who is being bullied, SPEAK OUT. TELL SOMEONE. HELP THAT PERSON. If you call someone a name, or make someone feel like crap, just THINK about it. YOU could be the reason someone is wanting to die or the reason why someone is cutting themselves. Please, PLEASE, can we just all try to stop bullying. Do ANYTHING you can to help improve this situation. It's 2014 and people cannot even feel like they can be true to themselves.
I have been in tears for about an hour now after watching this documentary. I would recommend everyone take the time to watch this.
If this doesn't break your heart, I don't know what will.
Edit - This blog has been negged ridiculously, but it's not about +'s or -'s that I care about.. Please, read this, and as long as someone else can watch the video and change their opinions on things, then my post has been a success.
And a quick thanks to anyone on Tengaged who has ever helped ME through things, as I have made some true non-judgemental friends on here.
mat123 i agree bullying is a huge problem and is absolutely disgusting, but frankly i don't think there is any solution to it, human beings are vile and disgusting creatures that had a natural thought process that makes them want to hurt other people, and unfortunately they are good at it, its a awful part of human nature that we cannot fix, only thing that can be done is to have other people be there to support them.
BigJoeFrimodt - I agree, sadly. I doubt there will ever be a solution to this, but as long as people make others more aware of the consequences of bullying, I believe bullying will decrease over time.
wileycoyote - It breaks my heart seeing people so young go through so much! The 12 year old boy was from another documentary, I kind babbled on and went off topic. Sorry!

I mean yes I agree and yes I do cut because of bullying as I have a high voice so am called gay but I mean I am also one of those bullies and honestly as much as I want to stop it it helps me feel better so like I don't know what to do tbh :/
jojo7784 First of all, whoever bullies you for your voice need to grow up because they are idiots.
Second of all, you grow the hell up. If bullying someone makes you feel better, that makes you a very sad little person. How can it feel good that you might be pushing someone closer to suicide? THAT makes you feel good, does it?
Woah calm down.... Trust me I don't say very bad things.... All I do I like tell people to move and roll my eyes and crap... I'm a very sassy person that comes off as rude so people look at me as a bully sometimes but I don't like call people really rude names and crap so back the fuck up
jojo7784 It takes one small comment to push someone over the edge. Could you live with the guilt of playing a part in someone suicide? If so, carry on. If not, grow the hell up and get on with your life. No form of bullying is acceptable.
