What are the reasons

People from the UK had to want to leave the EU? I'm an American, so I culturally appreciate the free travel membership in the EU provided, but there seemed to be many other benefits like mutual defense, a stronger economy  (as a result of free travel) etc. What was the negative part? Were there extra taxes or some other factors that were viewed ad negative?

I think mostly because of the money that the UK was so heavily investing into the EU could be used differently to better the UK itself, I'm not entirely sure as I didn't really keep up with it

To me it genuinely boiled down to border control and many British are actually kinda racist and I feel that some people who had a large impact on the vote weren't educated enough to be voting in the first place. I'm American but I've been following it heavily

Because of the promises that were made about the NHS and because of how much was invested in the EU by the UK and because of Visa issues.
