So this is the very first time I'm watching Glee and honestly I didn't know what to expect but I was not expecting for it to be so fucking funny and didn't expect to cry during the first episode. It occurred to me to make a running ranking as I watch this series and share it with ya'll. As this is my first watch I don't have any idea who is the main cast or whatever, so I'm basically just including all the characters that had significant dialogue in the first episode.
15. Football douche (name unknown)

14. Principle Figgins
He wasn't very funny and he was a total douche. I think he's above football douche because I know his name.
13. Tina
Really had no dialogue at all this episode. Some stuttering/whatever but I included her because I'm pretty certain she stays a main character.
12. Quinn
Christ queen had 2 scenes and they were both about her love for Jesus. I feel like she could provide a lot of controversial comic relief.
11.Gym teacher Ken
Was defo a douche but was funnier than principle douche
10. Sue
Her one liners yelling at the cheerleaders were really good. I'm pretty sure she is the main antagonist of the series. I kinda already expect she'll climb this ranking as the series progresses, but for now here she is.
9. Sandy
I loved his scene honestly. Other characters had more scenes than him so that's why he is lower. Could go up in this ranking if he remains a character (although something tells me he doesn't make to many reappearances)
8. Kurt
Didn't have much dialogue, but I thought his little hair flip while he held that note in his audition was flawless.
7. Mercedes
Honestly a queen, but I feel like they tried a bit to hard to make her the stereotypical aggressive black girl. I was all shook when she interrupted rehearsal to unleash a scathing critique of the group so she definitely left a good impression on me.
6. Terry Shoester (sp?)
Obviously going to be a conflict queen. She was on point with her description of her 4 hours a day 3 days a week work schedule.
5. Emma
Germaphobe Goddess. Goddess of keeping Will at the school. Goddess of unrequited love. Ugh I've never shipped someone so fast. Will x Emma < 3. Although there's something to be said for Will staying with his pregnant wife... oh the potential for future drama!
4. Artie
Iconic nerd king. His description of his part of the song as "ironic" was perfect as a first line for him because it immediately showed his self-depreciating humor and intelligence. I felt so bad for him when he was locked in the stall but then he slayed me when he did that saliva sizzle thing. Also early shipping Artie x Finn although I have no expectations of that actually happening.
3. Finn
I don't know if this show came before or after High School Musical, but clearly one of them borrowed Finn's storyline from the other. In any event, I really enjoyed all the scenes with Finn. I fucking cackled at his "I'll pee in a cup... I'll pee!" His backstory was hilarious but also heartbreaking. Honestly I think Cory Monteith's performance was potentially the best in this pilot. Plus he's a cutie.
2. Will Shoester (sp?)
I didn't expect the teacher to be the protagonist. He's great, honestly the very first scene of him driving in with his muffler dragging on the ground was iconic. He's really passionate and compassionate. His facial expressions were on point. It seems like he's about to be in the middle of a really tricky love triangle. I'm not certain if he stays the main protagonist or this is the type of show that focuses on different characters every episode, but if he is the main protagonist I can totally dig that.
1. Rachel
Honestly her intro scene slayed me. She then continued to deliver in every scene she was present. She's perfect as she is, but I have this fear that she will "blossom" into a more palatable person but become a less interesting character as the series progresses. For now, she was perfect in every way.
