Love is the unknown, unconditional and unfathomable feelings someone experiences towards another person. Whether it be a friend, a family member or a lover. It can also be unrequited :(
I think it is the deepest and complex human emotion and can feel amazing when it is returned but can also drive others to depression and suicide.

firstly LOL daisy you crazy woman!!!! but i actually know what you mean....
however... as for being In Love... i think you know you are when you would literally go anywhere and do anything to be with that person... you would face your greatest fears if they were by your side and when you would be happier to live in a cardboard box than to loose that person from your life... oh im welling up lol!!
