I find it funny that people don't think there is some sort of bias toward what types of people you meet. When you go to a bar (if you're old enough), essentially you gravitate towards the more attractive looks, than the person who does not. With that being said, you have to have some sort of physical attraction to that person if you want to have a relationship with them.
"I go for personality rather than looks.." How did you start talking to this person? If you find someone unattractive (in your opinion -- of course) you are not going to want to spend the rest of your life with them.
