Buddy to me sounds condescending idk why. It just does.

Pal just sounds like an old man trying to talk to you about your problems. Or its like someone who doesn鈥檛 know you that well who wants something.

Brother I associate with country folk. I have lots of friends born in the south and they use brother a lot.
