#Arris: A Great Big World ft. Christina Aguilera - Say Something
Now THIS is more like it. I've always loved A Great Big World, they're actually one of my go-to bands when I need to come down from an anxiety attack as of late. Ian Axel's vocals alongside the spare piano just rip straight into your heart and take you on a journey of sadness and isolation. I've been in this exact situation and the weight of begging desperately for answers, for showing reciprocation, for getting back the same amount you've been putting into a relationship are all something I relate to more than I'm even willing to admit here.
Death ballads are a quick and easy way to get me to break, yeah. As I mentioned in the results blog, death has been a pretty big part of my life and it still hurts even now. I lost my best friend a few years ago to suicide, and I almost lost myself to it a couple years after that. Something like this was definitely gonna do the job. It broke me down pretty quick and took me on a ride that was all too familiar and very painful to revisit but one that was ultimately cathartic and probably what I needed to hear today.
BOTH OF THESE SONGS ARE EXCELLENT. If you had submitted these initially I don't think either of you would be here, but both of you brought out the big guns for the face-off and made this decision REALLY hard.
I will say this was a really close call but one song hit me just the tiniest bit harder than the other.
