What Does getting a New Color Do?

I just got the orange card! what does that do for me?
when you go to the next color what does that mean?
i have no idea how that works? any ideas?

Orange means you can play Survivor now, and can +3. :)

Certain colors are required to play certain game types. It also makes your plus/minus stronger on blogs and designs.
