I came 6th, and then 7th. Oh well. I think I’m sad, or disappointed, or maybe frustrated. I don’t know. What I know now, however, is that I am part of the Figuration Players.
Figuration Players (or Tengaged’s extras, if you prefer) are not bad players. Most of them are better then mediocre. I’m not talking here about the annoying bad players that speak bad English, keep negging people and don’t show up for 4 days in a row. Figuration Players can be pretty good players. The thing is they are just not as good as the Big Ones.
A Figuration Player is someone who is nice, funny and active, but not quite as active as the Big Ones, and that gets them eliminated. They are interesting people with whom you bond easily, but not enough to keep them over others. I guess for the Big Ones, we look pretty bland. I don’t know.
There can be as much as half a cast of Casting that are Figuration Players. Those are not gonna win. Although, sometimes, when there is no Big One in the game, a Figuration Player can win. He will be proud of himself, and he totally should. However, that’s not what’s gonna make him a Big One, or a famous player, or someone in the Hall of Fame. Sometime, a tengaged’s extra will win more than one time. In his or her next games, he or she is gonna be targeted quickly, as they will appear like a thread, giving them a false feeling of being a Big One. That’s sadly not the case. And I don’t want to sound denigrating, because they all deserve to be stars. It’s just how I see it (and you can disagree! ).
How does a Figuration Player feel toward the game? I can’t quite say. I know how I feel, but the others? Well, a lot of them seems to be here in the hope of winning lots of T$ and Karma. Sometime, they will achieve that goal, but in a process that is longer and that will need more efforts than for the Big Ones (I’m not saying those don’t put effort in the game, as this is obviously not the case). A lot of the Figuration Players hope to be famous in this game, known by everyone as a reference, respected. A lot of them don’t know they are Figuration Players. But one day, they will begin to feel it, without putting a precise word on it. That’s how some players that were pretty active a while ago will start to participate less and less, to the point that they enroll in a game for the habit of it, without even saying a word. Figuration Players are interesting people, that have varied passions and centers of interest. Yes, they participate in tengaged, but sometime, they feel like doing something else. It’s okay, but that’s what keeps them from winning.
So, still not sure whether I’m right or not? Just think about it. In a lot of casting games, there is a moment at the beginning when someone says something like:”I look forward to the moment when the game is really gonna start, in a couple of tengaged days.” That means getting rid of the inactive ones, the annoying newbies (although some of them are not annoying, or are surprising new Big Ones. Those two types can last long in a casting game.) AND the Figuration Players. Until the Final 4, there will still be some Figuration Players left, but you know inside yourself that they are not gonna make it, and they usually don’t.
If, right now, you are asking yourself: “Am I a Figuration Player?”, sorry to say that, but you probably are. There is nothing wrong with it, a big part of the tengaged population is. Besides, the Big Ones know themselves, and we sure know them! If you feel like a Tengaged’s extra, say it! Don’t be ashamed, we’re still wonderful people!
You know what? I’m proud to be a Figuration Player. Really. Without us, how could this website work? They need us. The Big Ones need us to fill the casting games they are gonna win to get a little allowance between two Stars games. Do you think the people in the Hall of Fame would be so special and legendary if they were always in the same game against each other? Of course not. They need losers so that they can win it. They need people to talk to while waiting for their winning. We are the ones that keep them motivated to play. Keep playing, my fellow Tengaged’s extras. They need us. Keep up the good work, and claim the gratitude you deserve from the Big Ones. Be proud.
