Shane Powers (Past Survivors Blog)

Shane Powers was one of the most memorable survivors ever on a season, Survivor Panama (Exile Island) that featured many forgettable players. After an early merge (4 separate tribes became two), Shane quickly formed an alliance with 3 other players. The four knew if they stuck together, not matter what personal feelings they had for each other, if they could count on each others' votes. The four included the three most unstable players in the game, Shane (possibly the most unstable player ever), Danielle, and Courtney. The fourth, and only sane member of the alliance, was Aras Baskauskas, the eventual winner.
Despite frequent outbursts by Shane (most likely contributed to with withdraw from cigarettes), Danielle and Courtney, the four stuck strong until the end. All four would finish in the top 6. The other two castaways that finished in the top 6 were Terry, who made it far by dominating challenges, and Cirie, who in my opinion was brought along by Aras just because she was the most sane out of his former tribe. But I digress, I was talking about Shane.
Shane's withdraw from cigarettes caused some strange behavior while he was on the island and even considered quitting early on because of his withdraw. One of the most memorable moments was when he found a block of wood and called it his blackberry and sent "emails" out from it to his loved ones (mostly his son, the one area where Shane actually showed some sanity. It was very obvious that his son meant the world to him).
Overall, probably not the best equip to play the game, although his athleticism sometimes did surprise me. His social outbursts and eccentric behavior caused him to be one of the most entertaining players in survivor, but definitely not one of the most successful.

Cirie wasn't carried along by aras, if it wasn't for her he wouldn't have won

I did not mean that Aras carried her along, what I meant was there was a four person alliance (Aras, Courtney, Danielle, Shane) and Cirie was not a part of it from the start. As the game went on, Aras and Cirie formed a relationship and together they made it far. The point was not to discuss Cirie, I'm sure I will talk about her later. The point I was trying to make was that as dysfunctional as that alliance was, they stuck together and made it to the end.
