in fact, korean schools do not want to hire a teacher with lgbt.
if the parents find out, they will complain the school about it.
unfortunately, i have to tell the school that you are a bisexual.
i'm sorry about that.
our culture hasn't accepted the lgbt yet.
we just need more time."
"Corey,
there is no such a korean school that will accept a teacher who is a bisexual.
like i said, korean culture hasn't accepted the lgbt yet.
the school won't be able to hire a bi.
also, some foreign teachers working at korean schools won't be able to accept that either.
i don't think all the foreign teachers working in Korea understand the lgbt.
i'm sorry for informing you that the school will have to look for other teachers"

ehh it takes time. south korea is the becoming more and more accepting faster than other country in the world. in 2008, 18% of the population was tolerant of lgbt. just about 5 years later, that number rose to 39%.
that's sad. with that mentality they're missing out on a lot of good teachers. but i'm sure with time things will get better there, even the us has come a long way in the last 10 years.
