Let me just say that every song got me on some level! One song, made me cry. Another was close. All 5 songs were songs that I completely related to in some way. You all gave me the hardest choice here.

Kelly Clarkson- “rock hudson”
You’ve submitted songs that are good, but not ones I’ve personally connected with up until this point. I joked that you’re playing as one of my favorite artists, but you were on track to being eliminated, and then when you randomly submitted this song i choked on my words. This is my favorite Kelly Clarkson song, and one of my favorite songs of all time. The lyrics and how it relates to my divorce, how he always thought he could control the narrative- and i never cared. How he always thought he saved me or helped me out “piece by piece i found out my hero’s me” this song I had to listen to it twice. I was crying. I always do with this song.

Thomas Rhett- “Notice”
Now with this song, I connect with it, because I played this song for my ex husband back when we were “in love” still. I told him that i might not show it, but i notice the little things. And it takes me back to the good memories, I didn’t cry at this song. But it was an almost situation. Great song choice and Congrats on making finals.

Halsey- “3am”
This song is just so relatable. I’m up until 3am everynight. and I spend that time talking to people digitally rather than in person. I think with many of my mental health challenges, this song especially touches on a lot of my feelings and insecurities that i face. This was such an amazing choice! Congrats on finals!

Kehlani- “Can You Blame Me”
Kehlani, this song was soooo good, one of my favorites of the season! It’s just so damn relatable with my last relationship. How he made me feel like i was safe and yet it was so toxic. that dependency really comes through in this song, and when I heard this song that instantly came to my mind. Congrats on the finale!
MUNA, there was no way I could forget about you! You were the only artist to actually write anything this round! This song is so relatable as I am that kind of girl, well boy… but still. This song is about me! And the chorus where she sings “I could do this, i could do that- i’m the kind of girl who thinks i can” ugh this chorus is just so me. Excellent song! Congrats on the finale!
