Two different GM MDI 2 Models Mar 13, 2023: Now there are two models of the GM MDI 2 the market ,One is copy cheaper, another one is original expensive.

1: GM MDI 2 Diagnostic Tool Multiple Diagnostic Interface this model is copy cheaper, if you need this model you can choose you need wifi or not. If you need the wifi. Pls note, the wifi we have put it on the mother board, there is no other extra wifi card to provide. If you choose the wifi,but when you run it, you do not know how to connect with the wifi, attached the setup video for your reference, you can setup the wifi according the video.

The VCM II is the new Ford OEM diagnostic tool. It provides dealer-level diagnostics using the IDS software.
The VCM II is the brand new diagnostics interface from Ford for use with the Integrated Diagnostics Software (IDS).

Update Vocom II Mini Firmware via WiFi Dec 24, 2022: Make sure that the vocom2 dongle is powered up by 24V ECU or truck. Low voltage will affect the firmware update.

1. After connecting with WiFi, go to All Programs and then click VOCOM II Configurator.

2. You will see the windows as below. And Click the setting icon as the pictures below.

3. Then choose ‘Advanced’- ‘Update Device Firmware’

4. Click the Start update icon to update

Wait a moment until it is finished.

It will run the Volvo TECH TOOL automatically when the firmware update is finished.

“Absolute” Pressure and “Gauge” Pressure

Absolute Pressure is measured relative to a full vacuum (in the empty, air-free space), and uses absolute zero as its reference pressure. Pressure that is measured against Atmospheric Pressure (also known as Barometric Pressure) is called Gauge Pressure.
Average Barometric Pressure (1 ATM) at sea level is ~14.7 Psi (100 Kpa) or 1 Bar.

As Figure 1.1 and 1.2 above, we can find the formula for the Absolute Pressure:
Absolute Pressure = Atmospheric Pressure + Gauge Pressure

The correct reading for the Atmospheric Pressure Sensor is between 50 kPa (7.3 psi) and 100 kPa (15 psi).

Altitude Derate
The Engine may be derated due to high elevation. Use Cat ET to check for an active Engine Derate on the Status Flags screen.

There are no Event Codes that are associated with the Altitude Derate.
