Movie= Swing Kids
Rated PG-13

Quick Plot Overview
Set in barely pre- WWII Germany, Thomas, Peter, and Arvid are the best of friends. When Peter is caught stealing a radio and forced to join the HJ, Thomas joins up too, feeling it is his fault Peter was caught. Their goal? To be HJ's by day and Swing Kids by night. The movie details the sucess (or lack thereof) of the plan and shows how deep betrayal can go.

My Ratings
~ Music- 10+/10 - Filled with upbeat, illegal swing music and slower waltzs, the music really sets the tone and is beautiful in its own right.
~Plot- 9/10 - Good idea, but it was slightly confusing.
~Pacing- 8/10 - Too slow in some parts, too fast in others, but overall was good.
~Stunts/ Dancing- 10/10 - The stunts were fantastic and very realistic. The dancing was through the roof. They swing dance several times, and it was amazing! Fun to watch, and broke up the darkness of the film.
~Blood- 6/10 - Yes, this does need its own catagory. There was quite a bit of it, and while it looked realistic, contanuity was an issue for the blood on faces. And it didn't ever drip. They were bloody, never actually bleeding, which was annoying.
~Acting- 10/10 - AMAZING! Mr. Leonard, Mr. Bale and Mr. Whaley were all fantastic. They played the three confused teens well, with out looking confused them selves. They really took on their characters, and the intense moments were even more intense because of it.
~Overall- 9/10 - Fantastic movie with an important message.

Favorite Quotes- It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.
In a world on the brink of war, you either march to one tune or dance to another. (Movie Poster quote)
~
Final thoughts- I wouldn't recommend that a younger kid watches this movie, especially those easily scared or heavily affected by death, violence and blood. I think that everyone should watch this movie, as it does share an important message about humanity.
