I Love Money 4 - The Overview @ Ep 4 Oct 9, 2010
imageFirstly before I start my overview. A reminder for the ILM fans.
I LOVE MONEY IS NOW ON A WEDNESDAY AND IS AIRING AT 10PM AFTER REAL/CHANCES LEGEND HUNTERS. REMEMBER TO SET THE DATE!

Now the overview hosted by Lady GaGa.... No wait I cant afford GaGa... Damn. Guess your stuck with me then :P

GOLD TEAM

PUNISHER
Punisher is ruling the house either because of his actions or actions done by other people, the creation of the girls alliance has added extra targets to aim for. Hes got alliances, side alliances and secret alliances all around. Basically as long as he can stay away from the bottom three while a non-ally is there, hes a lock right now for the merge.

BLONDE BALLER
Has kinda slunk into the background, tagging along with the 'Sassy' girls alliance while still keeping her link with Punisher. However she and Punisher need to boot Fransico if they want to stick around since he'll be gunning right for them.

BRITANNYA
Seems to have missed the girls alliance boat but is instead shacking up with punisher out of ChiChi's eyeshot. Should ChiChi find out, hell is going to break out once again. Shes staying on the low however which is a good idea.

BROOKLYN
Even with his paymaster status, its hard to say where Brooklyns loyalties lie, he doesnt seem to have a solid alliance, he doesnt seem to have any possible romantic relationship going on. Unless he finds a strong link soon, he could be booted simply because it would be the least dramatic thing to do.

GARTH
Garth is another odd one. He seems to be allied with Punisher and... thats round about it actually. Physically hes the weakest man on the gold team so hes more likely to be thrown to the wolves when trouble starts.

HOT WINGS
Her tantrum at the power outing was a pretty awful thing BUT she at least knows when she build the bridges again. This could be a sign however that if anyone dares backstab her again, she'll explode and maybe hit somebody even.

SASSY
Sassy made a dangerous move taking out Alex albeit a clever one, however she needs to keep in mind that she needs more allies on her own team, not just her two girls since if the Green team keep losing people, she'll be screwed come merge.

GREEN TEAM

6 GAUGE
Finally woken up to playing the game, he was lucky that Marcia clarified her vote beforehand, had the vote only been revealed at voting time, he would have been screwed. Now that he has Mindy and Corn Fed helping him stick around, he should at least be good for a few more episodes... He still needs to ally up though.

CHI CHI
ChiChi should be worried, when he openly was allright with voting in 6 Gauge and Francisco, he could have possibly marked himself as somebody who could flip sides at a whim. Unless he clarifies that he wasnt being shady with his first votes, the men and women wont trust his vote.

CORN FED
Corn Fed is in a good position right now, shes possibly the weakest player in the game while at the same time the played with the most possibilities for alliances. If she plays her cards right she could swing her way to the final three... But possibly no further.

FIESTY
Fiesty meanwhile is in trouble. With Marcia gone, if the green team lose again, shes a cert placement for the box and she could also be the one who could easily be booted too given how she doesnt seem to have any filter on what she says, saying things that could easily ruin her own game.

FRANCISCO
Needs to be careful, hes got lots of people on the other side wanting him gone and he cant rely on the girls alliance skipping him for an ally of Punisher next time. In other words, he needs to be ready to vote every one of his green team allies into the box AND if he can, use Mindy to his advantage.

MINDY
Mindy is in a similar situation to Corn Fed other than Mindy isnt weak which makes her a much bigger target. That said she does have access to several possible allies, the most clear being Fransisco :P

And thats all :)

Again: I LOVE MONEY IS ON AT 10PM WEDNESDAY RUNNING IMMEDIETLY AFTER REAL AND CHANCES LEGEND HUNTERS.

I Love Money 4 - Why Marcia Lost Oct 8, 2010
imageAnother round of I Love Money and another blindside moment in the vault. Obviously theres some pretty easy reasons to name WHY Marcia wound up as the sixth person to leave the show but is it really that simple? Lets take a look at why Marcia lost using the usual 5 rule format.

Rule 1: Have Allies, Keep Allies
Marcia did a good job here, she was placed in the all girls alliance on account of her being a girl and on account of her not trying to sleep with everyone (Brittanya). At best however she was a fringe member of the alliance rather than a key member so when push came to shove, she was one of the ones who would have likely been booted first.

Rule 2: Keep Control of Your Emotions
Oh dear... For anyone out of the know, Marcia was also in the cancelled 'I Love Money 3' and was sent home because of her arguments with people, she also apparently smacked somebody in the face with her cheque before leaving.
In I Love Money, while she wasnt booted first, her temper showed up time and time again, first against Mamacita, then against Britannya.
Then when she was backstabbed, all hell broke loose, she essentially went out on a major offensive against Corn-Fed and Mindy that may have actually helped had she not gone and started taunting Chi Chi about his father, that doubled with that the current paymasters whole reason of being there was his dead father... it was a BIG mistake.

Rule 3: Strategize
Marcia did have some strategy, she had her bases covered alliance wise but then got complacent. She didnt keep a track of things, left team talks early and basically assumed she was safe which made it all too easy to backstab.

Rule 4: Dont Over-Strategize
Marcia (and Fiesty too) failed here. While it was all okay calling Corn-Fed untrustworthy, it slipped several times that there was at least the possibility of an all girls alliance in the house. With that infomation why would Brooklyn take out somebody who actively went against the alliance with the numbers?

On another note was Fiesty, Marcia needed to keep her friend more in check because Fiesty telling Brooklyn that Marcia was strong/Corn Fed weak. NOT HELPFUL.

Rule 5: Dont Trust Anyone 100%
Marcia put all her faith in her all female alliance which meant once the first backstab happened, she had nowhere to look to for help.

In a nutshell: Marcia lost for two (maybe three) reasons. Firstly was her attempts to piss off her team accidentally also pissing off the paymaster, secondly was her attempt to paint Corn Fed as untrustworthy but also showing the possibility of an all female alliance. Finally it was that Marcia had no extra links in the house, once the backstab happened, she was toast.

I Love Money 4 - Why Alex Lost Oct 6, 2010
imageIts time for another round of 'Why they lost' for I Love Money 4. However first a BIG NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT: LISTEN UP.

I LOVE MONEY 4 IS BEING MOVED TO WEDNESDAY, STILL AT THE SAME TIME HOWEVER. UPDATE YOUR RECORDING STUFF AND UPDATE THE PLANNER. Aka: THIS WEDNESDAY. Aka: TODAY

Moving on, Alex was the fourth person to find a voiding stamp on his cheque despite a large push to boot Francisco instead. What went wrong? Lets take a look.

Rule 1 - Have Allies, Keep Allies
Alex did have allies sure (Punisher the most noticeable), what was the problem however is that he didnt really seem to have any allies on his own team. Essentially you need allies on both sides, one to keep you out of the box, one to save you when your in danger. By having no allies on his own team, it made it all too easy to vote him right into the box with somebody he wasnt allied with as a paymaster.

Rule 2 - Keep Control of Your Emotions
No fail here, Alex didnt really blow up, argue or anything. He did fool around with Mamacita but thats something that has no real relevance here.

Rule 3 - Strategize
Alex did have some strategy, unfortunately when the time came to really push deals, he stayed silent, which is a BIG mistake to do in the game of I Love Money. True, he did ask for the one-on-one session to clarify his case but that doesnt excuse not going to Sassy AFTER the power outing had finished since there is ample time between the power outing and the elimination to further your cause.

Rule 4 - Dont OVER Strategize
Oddly Alex managed to break both these rules concerning plots/schemes. To put it bluntly, he wouldnt have gone in, had he not been as open with his scheming with Punisher. Basically whispering out in the open where everyone can see you is not a good idea, this is why 6-Gauge and Punishers alliance flew under the radar, their meetings were quick and simple. Because of the open alliance, suspicion was immediately cast on him and in turn, Sassy, who was against Punisher anyway, had an extra reason to send him packing.

Rule 5 - Dont Trust Anyone 100%
Not really a fail for Alex but the rest of the gold team needed to focus less on just Fransisco and also look over at Mindy if they wanted a strong player out.

In a nutshell - Alex lost because he showed his hand with Punisher far too early, this set up a string of events which led his team turning on him, the paymaster turning on him and he made no attempt to save himself once he was in danger. That is why Alex lost.

Coming soon: The Ep3 Overview!

Again: REMEMBER THAT I LOVE MONEY IS ON TONIGHT (aka: Wednesday).

Survivor Ep 3 Sep 29, 2010
Am I the only person who DOESNT think that the boot tonight was a dumb one? Hell I think it was a good'un. He ADMITTED that he was the weakest player! As far as I saw he made NO contribution to any challenge and made NO attempt to keep himself there :P

Aka: Jimmy.J basically waved the white flag and allowed himself to be voted off.

I Love Money 4 - Why 20 Pack Lost (Again) Sep 26, 2010
imageOkay I gotta start off with a little rant here because of the rules changes this time round. While I think having a random pick and the 'no captain twice' rules work and I also think having a 'Losing Captain auto' and the 'No Captain Twice' rules also work.

Having BOTH the 'Random Captain Pick' AND the 'Losing Captain Auto' is just a wee bit unfair. Case in point - 20 Pack. Lets follow the rules and see WHY im a tiny bit miffed (though not 100%)
---------------------
1 - Have Allies, Keep Allies
This is maybe where 20 Pack stumbles slightly, one tactic which is always good is to have team members on the opposite side, in fact the very reason 20 Packs alliance last time got overtaken suddenly WAS because of not paying attention to the other sides scraps (Myammee, Ice, Bonez)
If he had possibly made connections on the other side, maybe that would have pushed ChiChi to boot Brittanya instead.

2 - Keep Control of Your Emotions
I cant 100% fault 20 Pack here. Yes he did hook up in the show but in actuality, it gave him a target other than himself who could be booted. Even with the showmance romance he still managed to see sense and get Brittanya into the box.

3 - Strategize
As ive already said, 20 Pack was not really allied with the green team however the gold team were all over him wanting him to stay. He also made a good deal FOR ChiChi who was a bit blind not to see why it was so good.

4 - Dont OVER Strategize
No foul here

5 - Dont Trust Anyone 100%
Again, NO FOUL. The one person he could have trusted 100%, he realised that she was lying.

In a nutshell... well... okay not a nutshell. Essentially the rules are mostly what did 20 Pack in given he was already a big key player. The only reason 20 pack went is because... :/ You see my problem in coming up with a REAL reason? XD

Okay... Real reason. The real reason 20 pack lost is because ChiChi was blinded by Brittanyas breasts despite knowing full well shes a liar and a cheat, things can only go downhill for ChiChi from here :P

Still, at least EVERYONE ELSE now knows these rules and can try and make compensations to avoid a similar booting.

FFS Jury System Sep 25, 2010
imageAm I the only one who HATES the idea of having Juries in Rookies? Let me count reasons why I hate the idea of the Jury system.

1 - Pre-Mades
Pre-mades were already a big annoyance in Rookies, namely if you see a Pre-Made comprised of 5 people, unless you can snatch any sort of power you will be screwed out of a game.
NOW even if you make it all the way to the end against the Pre-Made, whos voting for the winner in the end? YUP! The Pre-Made, who will they be voting to win? Heres a clue, it WONT be the person who beat them, instead all votes are directly to the others (and to make matters worse, if there is a pre-made member left standing, to THEM)

Making it when Juries are in, see a 5+ alliance, go and wave that white flag.

2 - Butthurt
Backstabbing is a big part in reality television, something which is good to see and sometimes can make the viewer actually ROOT for the backstabber for playing the game right.
Now lets take Big Brother USA for instance, the Jury is in the jury house for a long period of time to make their decision, usually its one based on several factors INCLUDING 'Has this person worked for the win'

Rookies Juries wont have that luxury, instead likely it'll be a snap decision. Okay, that wont always be a bad thing HOWEVER where it will be a bad thing is when it comes to the more strategic players.
Should a backstab occour, the player who has backstabbed, REGARDLESS of the reason is likely not to recieve a vote instantly from that person.

What will likely happen is the outed person will look at whos left and instantly go 'That person had nothing to do with my ouster, ill give my vote to them' which is an insane reasoning really, what has said person done to get a vote? nothing. That brings me to...

3 - Bye bye Strategic Play
Should anyone reach the finals who has done nothing, VOILA, by cause of internet-butthurt, they will instantly recieve a lions share of the votes and will instantly be a likely win winging their way which means more inactive games, more pre-mades and less strategy/gameplay/intelligence all round.
---------------
The ONLY way this will likely be circumvented is if somebody gets people to turn on each other and not be directly involved. Thats good gameplay but its unlikely that you'll be able to do that if everyone belives the best course of action is silence.

Anyway :) For those who are awaiting my 'ILM4' article, it'll come tomorrow (Just got the episode, gonna watch it soon)
