Noob Question

I'm not really a newb, but what exactly is the point of the stars's raffle tickets? is the only real point that it means that you avoid the click race to get in? or is it like a real lottery where you don't have to pay either like the rest of the people?

Its a raffle. The winner selected gets to play for free in STARS which cost about 300T$
