why the backlash against using "queen" and "goddess" happened on here because now apparently if you use those to describe a female celebrity you are a stupid gayboy
and yet people use "king" to describe successful athletes (i.e. king james for lebron) or "god" for any male figure that is particularly talented and that is totally okay and normal because it is straight males describing other straight males and god forbid we use any terms of empowerment to describe successful or entertaining females
thanks jacksonjoseph99 for inspiration, this wasn't targeted at you though
survivorfan37 i don't get why you feel the need to hate every single blog that suggests casual misogyny is a real thing, i'm not pulling any card i'm not even a female it's just an observation so bye
I agree casual misogyny exists, I just don't think this is an example of it and you're overanalyzing it obscurity. Disagree if you want, it being your opinion or mine makes it neither right or wrong!
survivorfan37 not saying i am right i'm just saying it's something i've noticed
i'm not even trying to pull something maybe this was worded too inflammatory but all i think is that it is kind of stupid that calling someone a goddess because they did something entertaining on a reality tv show is lowbrow and stupid
fine how about you pretend this blog wasn't about misogyny it's actually about prescriptivism
obscurity but it's rather difficult to build a connection between thinking it's stupid and the action of thinking it's stupid being sexist, I doubt anybody says it's stupid because they don't want to empower females (or maybe they do, I could be wrong), they just do it because.....they think it sounds stupid. (Just like I think calling a male a "King" or a "God" is just as stupid, if not more so).
Maybe taking it at face value's the wrong approach here, but I honestly think there's not anything more to it. At any rate, it's certainly an interesting discussion topic and definitely one worth examining.
